I don't disagree about the money. However, would the league allow that extra advertising money to be used in relation to raising the salary cap and paying players? Or would the owners and the league rather stick it in their pockets and call it good?

Considering that by trading with the Wild we turned Barker into Leddy , wouldn't that cause a rift in the Space Time Continuum ?

Yeah, and it leaves a pretty nice cap cushion too. I guess I'm not in the camp that believes that Bickell is on the block - right now. However, I could see Bickell becoming a cap casualty next summer.

If the Mark McNeill that showed up last weekend in London takes his game to that level in Rockford this season, I could very easily see McNeill as the Bickell replacement in 2015-16.

I don't think it's even going to go that far. There's 10 or 11 guys that are pretty much slated to contend for roster spots on the blueline in Rockford right now. My bet is that 7 or 8 of those guys get jobs, and the rest go to Indy. There's not much room there for Barker.

I think Barker is here just to possibly drum up interest in him somewhere else.

Whaaaaaaaazup brothers....love the Wise signing. Not sure he'll ever be more than an AHL'er (IF THAT), but he is a physical player that has developed a decent scoring touch in the last few years. I'm super happy for him and will monitoring his progress closely.

Right now Cam Barker has been plaing for a couple of years in the KHL for Barys(Astana)

His other ex Hawk teammate, Ben Eager is now playing in the KHL for CSKA , Moscow. He looks pretty beat up on the CSKA team picture. Good luck to both. I guess they were both slipping and sliding.

I saw that Cam Barker on the roster and wondered
Should I throw up a little in my mouth

Wonder if Leddy was being traded to the Wild

Or

If they were just being polite by giving Cam a chance.

I will never forget the deer in headlights look Barker would make when the Hawks coughed it in transition and he had to decide what to do/ where to position himself and try and play NHL defense...

He is still really young player -the idea is to find the best players wherever you can to improve your depth.
