I think this season will tell us yay or nay. He needs to actually get some time playing on the top line before we get a definitive view
- Yeti1181

He has had his shot many times. and has butt fumbled. But yes. This year should make it clearer.

The point was Dozzer, that just because a player plays on that line, doesnt mean he's first line center....
- jbold

johanson will be..

big strong.. good skater

kadri isnt physically big enough to ever mature into that

franson (frank)ing sucks and i'd like to give him concrete boots and toss him in the lake

C'mon. You tihnk he is a number 1? At 24 years old. You probably should be showing it by now.
( this is where posters go off on a tangent because by saying he is not a number 1 automatically means I think he doesn't belong in the NHL)

- Lee Denault

I think he could very well be a number 1.

His production, while playing 2nd line minutes and 2nd PP unit shows that he has the tools and offensive skills to be one.

The only thing he's lacking his the defensive side of the game.

Yet Kadri laid out bigger hits than Johanson. It is not always the size.

Do you?

I've watched him quite a bit. I watched BJ's games last season. They were exciting. And I wanted the Leafs to offersheet him, until I heard how much money he was demanding.

- jbold

Well I cant say you're lying. But if you cant see that much of a difference between him and kadri. you were watching the game through the bong

I was reading an article by James Tanner on another site who suggested:

Kessel Kadri Clarkson (not sure who he wanted LW, prolly DC)
JVR Bozak Lupul

Interesting.

I've already stated Johanssen is better and will be better.

Im simply stating that throwing in a first rounder along with a top 6 center to get him is an overpayment.

Think about it this way. Franson, Kadri, and a first for him. Then you'd have to sign him. Where would the cap space come from? (Not sure how much we have so someone tell me)

Now.. Bozak, Franson and first.. Now we're talking (Just kidding. I know that wouldnt get it done.)

Oh theyre different players, im not arguing that. I'd take Johansen over him any day.

But throwing in a first and Franson for him? That first rounder is a deal breaker for me.

kadri is a very gritty player and love that he plays bigger then he is.

That's my guess. Willy Nylly played RW at the rookie tourney and has been playing wing for a while in Sweden I think. I don't think they move Kadri from C either

absolutely not!

he better not, i think 1 season in the AHL on north american ice will do him a lot of good.

no need to rush like we tend to do.

I'd rather offersheet Johanssen.

$5,046,586 to $6,728,781 First-, second-, and third-round pick

That way, you have 2 very good young centers.

You could flip Bozak, and Franson in separate deals to compensate the draft picks

I can't speak for him. But it's Ohio.

I wouldn't want to play there.

I think AHL would be the best for him this year, since he's already spent a season playing in a grown up league. Problem is, it burns 1 year of the team's control over his contract. Not sure if it's worth it.
