100% its one of the two IMO. - Lucas Neilson
I'm going to go with Gaudreau.
Gibson though if he wrestles the starting job from Freddie, could be there in the end too. |

They're the obvious favorites.....
I think Forsberg is still considered a rookie no? He's also one to watch. |

Polak will help our PK. Which is good - jbold
Mirtle has said the leafs suck and need to buy into the analytics

If you look at RC's time with Anaheim, teams eventually figured out how to play against his systems and began to gravely out shoot the Ducks.
There was talk on here, and pretty much every major sports outlets that MAYBE it was time to blow up the Ducks. There was talk about Getzlaf, Perry, and Ryan leaving, and that they couldn't compete.
Then midseason, they fired RC and hired Boudreau. With pretty much the same team, the shots lowered from almost 40 a night to around 25, Anaheim started winning, and a year later they finished first in the league.
Same team, different coach. |

Mirtle's job is to use analytics to grade teams and players. It's called balanced coverage, when you include all the other voices on tsn. |

And bring up how Wilson was fired, and the Leafs made the playoffs with RC |

He was alright at first but like most nowadays, they have to be confrontational and sensationalize everything. They should go back and read how a real sports journalist did it, like Jim Hunt. |

Doesnt take much reading something from a website.
Thats all he does. He has no insight or knowledge, he lets the adv stats make the decisions for him |

Simmons is a sensationalist, and full of hot air. It's always about getting the "Last Word" with him.
Damien gets a bad rep. from his formerly sensationalist ways......his coverage is a lot less condescending and he's better for it.
Mirtle has a job to do, and he does it. Nothing more, nothing less. |

Pretty much the same thing. Wilson was fired by employing an all out Offense first mentality.
It was exciting hockey, but lead to a lot of goals against. Specifically from 2 on 1s, and a neutral zone trap. It's why we struggled against Boston so much during RWs time. They clogged the neutral zone and completely shut us down.
In the lockout shortened season, we made the playoffs NOT because of Komarov, or because of our goons. We made it because RC was newer to the conference and we didn't have to play the West.
Once again, it didn't take teams long to figure out how to play against Carlyle's systems. They figured it out, and we never adapted. Just kept trying to run the same plays. |

You cannot assume a 190 foot shot is a scoring chance, it is flawed. How many of those shots are floaters from a distance, not all goalies are Toskaleque. |

Pretty dirty elbow right there. From what I've heard Gaudreau is fine.
Kid is probably the first flames prospect in years that the hype is actually dead on about. Kevin Hayes and Bill Arnold are going to miss him big time. |

Main reason why Avd stat fans annoy me.
They ignore crap like this, and they arent watching the games to see this kind of stuff. |

Sportsnet are already running ads of him for their NHL game days, so depressing to think that what we have to look forward to. |
