Starting to think prospects camp is just another delay before main camp where we will temper expectations with talk of the exhibition games as meaningless, wait for regular season to start and see lineups... and then the regular season we will wait until 20 games in to have any sort of evaluation and then we will have to wait until after Christmas break to see if this team really has a shot at the playoffs and then wait until all-star break to wonder what is going to happen at tdl and if we will be buyers or sellers and how much we are going to get for Miller...
Yes, drop the puck! - hillbillydeluxe

Virtanen only ranked 26 on Pronman prospect list. Ahead of him are Nylander, Ehlers, Fiala, Fleury and Petan, all who were picked after us. Horvat is no. 19. Comments? |

Odd how whenever there is a coaching or GM replacement rumours, the names of Torts and Gillis never come up... actually, not odd. |

Gillis was actually mentioned earlier in the summer as a possibility in Washington. |

Virtanen was ranked 7th overall by the ISS, NHL had him 6th for NA skaters, Bobby Mac had him at 7th overall, the scouting report had him 14th and McCann 10th.
It all depends on who you're listening to or what you believe? I tend to use Bob McKenzie, his top ten picks were almost bang on.
PS: I think it was a great pick!! |

Those aren't that far off from his pre-draft rankings, he doesn't have a great track record actually despite how much he follows junior hockey. |

Over-reacting?
This is over reaction-
Leafs Win Rookie Tournament Finale, they have a parade route ffs...
(that should be us... , add it to the cup list. ) |
|

But it really is that bad. This franchise is (frank)ed for years to come unless Benning is a (frank)ing magician. Time will tell. - bloatedmosquito
I'm sorry to hear that Francesco, may I suggest you visit your wine cellar, pick out a nice vintage and get hammered. |

I think that means they win their final game. Not the Final. As in they didn't win the tourney. But more, Leafs win their final (their own finale) game of the most recent Rookie Tournament that they participated in. - walshyleafsfan
Are you sure, I thought I detected a festive atmosphere with streamers, confetti and much celebrating... ?
I guess any excuse to have a drink!
Cheers. |

Until the Canucks have the prospect depth, as Carol mentioned, that the other teams do, they'll continue to struggle in this tourney. Yes they have some nice prospects, but not the overall depth the other organizations have.
The price of being good for a long stretch of years. Well that and GMMG didn't know how to manage the assets we did have. - LeftCoaster
This is why I keep saying it would not hurt us to be bad for two or three years. |

Yes. Ottawa won. I think you guys are misunderstanding the word finale in this sentence. Also, these tourney's are round robins, thus no final played.
Leafs win their rookie tournament finale, before congratulating Ottawa for winning the tournament. Is what could've been said to dumb it down somewhat. |
