Thoughts on ads on jerseys? I'd say no. Could you imagine the Sabres jersey with ads all over it? I like them the way they are.

Thoughts on ads on jerseys? I'd say no. Could you imagine the Sabres jersey with ads all over it? I like them the way they are.

It's going to happen sooner or later. There's simply too much money to pass up.
My fear is that it looks like a mess like the European hockey leagues do. If they go the way of ugly looking patches, whose color scheme bears no resemblance to the team's uniform I'm going to hate it. However, if a company, let's use Mazda for example (because I drive a Mazda6 and I love it), wants to embroider, key word being embroider, its logo in gold on the somewhere on the Sabres' blue jersey, say on the shoulders, I could get used it. I'd rather not have it altogether, but it's inevitable. All we can ask is that it looks decent.
European Soccer teams, as noted in the article, seem to do a somewhat decent job with this. |
