This goes both ways though, yea it should matter but it shouldn't be overvalued. Yes it's a disappointing result but pushing the panic button would be ridiculous.

In 2011 we won the tournament and that group was led by the "dominant force" that was Zack Kassian, Luke Adam, Marcus Foligno, and Brayden McNabb. 2 of which have been traded, 1 who has no future here and 1 whose good will with the fans is fading away (which is impressive given his last name).

If I'm not mistaken, he coached for this tournament last year too.

It's a tournament where you play 3 games in four nights, 4 in 6 if you include the final "place" games, with little to no prior practice. There's a whole lot that can go wrong there (and a whole lot that can go right). If this were a 10-game tournament and they were still getting blown out, then there would be time to panic. I watched and listened to very little of the previous two tournaments (championship games only), and didn't keep track of a single game here. It's there to give these kids a taste of what it's like to play in a big league uniform, and very little more.

Great writeup Pach. Really takes us inside a tournament that we have limited access too.

They caught 2 of 3 breaking into a house last Friday... K9 got a hold of them and put them in the hospital.

Still not sure if it's the same group of thieves though, no word from the detective yet. My damn insurance company is sure dragging their feet and it's pissing me off.

That he did. I think Rochester is going to be a fun team to watch again this year. I just hope they manage to at least get to the second round of the playoffs. They've been bounced in the first round the last 3 years.

2. We shouldn't be as excited about our prospects as we are now.

3. Or tournament is just one of those tourneys where it basically means nothing. Kind of like the prospect camp.

It's basically one of three things either...

1. Cassidy isn't that great of a coach.

2. We shouldn't be as excited about our prospects as we are now.

See the problem with this theory is that it definitly does matter. These are the same kids that have been saying how much they want to be on the team next year. This was a chance to make an impression and show in front of their GM days before training camp that they belong. When I hear that they are getting blown out and the effort level is low, I think there is reason to be a little upset

If they knew what they were doing then most of your stuff is probably gone. I hate to be a Debbie downer but as is the case with most larcenies they never hold on to the stuff for very long.
