Gunna be pretty mad and puzzled if Boston trades Krug finally got a decent PP but who knows cant even imagine what this trade would consist of with Boston giving up Krug/Boychuk and Morrow |

Why not Plekanec as an interim captain until PK gets a bit older/matured? |
|
|
|
Markov would be the obvious choice but he only has a few years left, I would imagine that they would want to name someone that is gonna be there for the long run. Subban would be ideal but I don't think that he's ready for it. May never be. My guess is that they give Subban this year to earn his contract and prove that he's matured enough to lead the team if not it goes to Pacioretty. |

Not giving the 'C' to Subban in favor of a Veteran like Markov would have been fine. But doing this, makes them look guilty of something. Like there is some big reason or rift in the organization. They look very indecisive and timid. The whole thing seems weak.
This isn't going to affect anyone unless the team struggles. When that happens, the Habs have planted to the seeds for all the conspiracy theories that will pop up. If this only matters to the public and not the players than this public relations decision has earned a 'fail'. |

amazing how since Therrien took over 2 years ago, Montreal has more points than all but 6 other NHL teams, yet everything he does is wrong. |

well i am confident that Marc Bergevin and Michel Therrien have a bit more first hand insight into the dynamics of the club than you, me or Ek does. |

Or they could hurry and name a person not suitable for captaincy and go through what us Leaf fans are being exposed to. |

Markov does not want the C. And it wouldn't suprises me at all if it were the case for Plekanec also.
I don't even see Plekanec finishing his contract in Mtl. So how can you give a guy captaincy when you don't know how many more years he will be with the team.
We can now see that short term, the captain will be Pac or PK, with Gallagher, Galchneyuk and eventually Tinordi as potential A's. |

Not having a little letter sewn on your jersey doesn't preclude you from taking a leadership role. If you have a team full of players that are so misguided that they have to have a captain there to hold their hand and inspire them, then your team has some major issues.
But if, for argument's sake, you would like me to play into the "leadership" storyline then you could argue that having four guys wearing the 'A' should motivate them all to act in a manner that they see comparable to that of a guy that wears the 'C', to essentially "present" themselves to coaching/management as viable candidates when they do decide to name a single captain. The positive effects of four guys competitively "captaining" should trickle down to the other players. |

looking at the B's lineup, its easy to see who they should be letting go, but the problem might be that other teams don't want these players for how much the are making. maybe the Bruins should've used their buyouts when they had the chance.
goodbye Kelly, Campbell and Paille. hello capspace. |

couldnt buy out kelly since he was injured at the time, but once they move him and LTIR Savard they have eough cap space to sign krug, smith, gagne to have a 22man roster |
