So you figure your new hotshot gm, who's number one priority was signing miller is going to turn around and trade him (possibly to winnipeg) because all of a sudden they going to give the majority of starts to lack and make miller the back up... - JETSWIN
Hey, I can't read his mind and everything about the future is speculation- but for Miller being his # 1 priority and then not calling him his #1 goaltender going into the season sure doesn't make anything sound like it is written in stone.
I don't know how many games from last year that Benning watched, but I don't think goaltending was the issue except maybe at the start of the season and that may as well have been the rest of the team learning a new system too?
As I mentioned previously, I believe Lack is an upgrade on Pavelec.
Wonder what Benning would say if you asked him and got an honest answer? |

.905 sv % the last 20 games.
Lack is still very much an unproven commodity IMO. |

Dude, he needed a break somewhere in there.... I still think he is better than Pavelec, teams have to manage the environment and Torts rode him too hard.
Pavelec career NHL sv% is .906 |

OK, maybe (and quite possibly) he's better than Pavelec. However, I disagree that he'd be pushing Schneids for the starting goalie position. |

Thought he was pushing Lu last season and putting up some good games before the break in January. The whole team struggled after that...
I did think he played a couple games the previous season, but I guess not. Maybe I am putting too much emphasis on 1 season and a guy's poise and likability. |

Eklund: Update. Who ELSE is Keeping Tabs on Evander Kane... - Eklund
I don't like saying this about a young player because they all develop at different paces but I don't see the hype about this guy beyond a solid forward who plays physical but is probably going to max out (given a full season, healthy) at around 65-70pts. Not to say with the proper compliments on his line he couldn't have a higher ceiling but he isn't growing as a playmaker and the market of Winnipeg may not be exciting enough for him to be all he can be. If they can get something good in return, now's the time to do it. |

70pts would put him tied with Kopitar, Duchene and Marleau for 16th overall in the league last season. I'd say that's a pretty good forward. |
