Friend of mine who is close to the team told me that McDonagh is the front runner for the C. Not sure how accurate this news is as it could just be a rumor, but I'm certainly not against it. I personally would like to see Staal get it for a few reasons. First, he's a horse on the ice and even after all of his struggles, he's still an elite defender. I would also expect a bit of a discount in that contract he's about to sign if he's the C. Would set a good example for everyone else about to sign contracts with us. All speculation though.

Is NJ a place where no one wants to go anymore? I mean if that's the case, being a place where people can revive their careers might be an intriguing business model but I just don't get why all these invites. Unless Uncle Lou has finally lost his mind?

and staal is going to get what hes going to get, there is absolutely ZERO chance he takes a discount to become captain.

Staal would be crazy to sign for anything short of market value. He knows his value, he knows he'll get a killing on the open market and that teams would be falling over theselves to sign him.

For a guy in his situation, a hometown discount makes no sense.

Devils camp is going to turn into a Hockey Legends game. I like the idea of inviting players for more competition, but I think they might be going slightly overboard.

With all of his major injuries he has in the past few seasons, he might want to lock up a deal now and not risk another injury prior to hitting the UFA market next summer. Not saying that would mean a discount, but might help the Rangers save some money then competing with 29 other teams for his services.

ok definitely, will change it up

Jimbo I would probably turn off faceoffs regardless of categories or points. That stat inflates scrub centers like brian boyle to be better fantasy players than top wingers.

I don't know whether to believe her or not. She says one thing and then more credible reporters quote scouts that say the complete opposite. She said that hayes looked like he had zero chance of making the nhl team and struggled and scouts were quoted saying he was dominant and ready.

yeah, Leslie has no cred, there is no doubt about that

I do tend to believe Hayes will at least start in Hartford though, especially now with Malone signed

I agree with that. Its just the rangers way especially with miller and lombardi also competing for that 3rd line spot. Hags - Hayes - Malone would be a pretty sweet 3rd line though. Speed, size, physicality, and a scoring touch. It would be like the boyle - moore - dorsett line only better offensively.

If you click on players you can see how it wouldve projected out last year with those settings. Overall I think its pretty good for the players but goalies seem a bit weak. Only 3 goalies would break 200 points and 2 of them barely did. Plus/minus seems a little low at .1 too. That means that a guy like bergeron who was 2nd in the league with +38 only got an additional 3.8 points for the whole season. Maybe bump it up to 1 or remove it all together.

Goalies look solid now. Without plus minus ovi becomes the best fantasy player by a mile

One other thing, it shows goals against as -5? Is that supposed to be -.5? Cause -5 for each goal given up is a bit extreme haha

Edit: On second look, if saves count as .5, I guess its more reasonable as 10 saves equals 1 goal against then it seems

just remember... our draft position is random, not based upon the previous system.. so this whole fail for whoever wont work in our league
