methinks zadorov would be best served with a year in Rochester...just my opinion
- Michael Pachla

I agree. Zadorov was very raw when they drafted him. He was considered to be a project. He'll be back in Jr this year, probably spend at least part of next year in Rochester.

I'm no expert but I didn't consider him a project. I saw some serious confidence in that kid. Does he fall in the age range the Grigorenko did with the Jr./AHL thing?

this year, yup...he's still very raw, needs to play within himself...e.g., he's oft-times out of position going for the hit...even did that at the scrimmage

I thought the same thing at the scrimmage.

Does he have the tools to be a successful NHL defenseman? Yes. Is he ready to be one yet? No.

He has trouble right now putting it all together at times. We have plenty of other guys in the pipe anyway, so there's no need to rush him. He made a lot of improvement this past season. Let's see if he can continue that this year.

I really like Zadarov, but I think people are getting ahead of themselves with him like they did McNabb. Obviously his ceiling his higher and he's a much better skater but IMO he's gonna take a while.

If Risto/McCabe pan out

Imagine the twin towers of Zadarov/Myers, and Risto/McCabe as your top 4.

Mark Pysyk could end up being one of the better 4/5 guys in the league

agreed...and to pony a bit, he has untapped offensive potential that needs time to develop...

am of the opinion that whoever pulled the plug on the direction of the team last season, probably saved a career or two

I also can only laugh at some pre seasons articles I can keep reading about the NHL and it seems each one has to have a very direct jab at the Sabres. As if we have no prospects, no ownership support, no cap space and no money.

I really like the direction we're going in with our D. The way I see it, we SHOULD end up with more talent than we have room for, which could lead to a trade or two to get those missing pieces we may need up front or in goal a couple of years from now.

agreed...one thing they are missing on d, and a lot of sabres followers agree, is a highly-skilled puck-mover on the back end...a "noah hanifin-type" if you will

Seems like it's been our problem for years....having a PP specialist/QB. I know some of the kids project to have that potential....we'll see.

right on, seedy...oddly enough, tyler myers may be the only d-man who has end-to-end-rush/pp-specialist/offensive-defenseman-type skills right now

Diving fines and changes to tripping are kind of nice though.

If they want to curb the delay of faceoffs, they should tell the linesmen to drop the puck instead of trying to be the show so they can waive players out of the dot.
