Didn't Buffalo "rotate" the C??? I'm thinking the C and first A are set (likely Markov & Plekanec as per EE). and the second A split half&half. - number_23
bruins did that last year. krejci and kelly split an A. |

How would Markov or Plekanec view not receiving any type of letter?
Pretty sure Markov doesn't give a poop about a letter. - Pecafan Fan

As professionals I'd imagine that while someone may feel ever-so-slightly taken back by not being selected, if the locker room as a whole feels someone like Subban or Patches deserves the role then they will all be able to move beyond some hurt ego. If they cant, then maybe its best to part ways with that player anyhow. Age is clearly not as big a factor (See Toewes) as much as a combination of respect from teammates, maturity to handle situations on the ice and someone that can handle the media pressures MTL comes with.
I personally felt like either Patches or Plek should receive it, but Markov would also make a great captain as well as Subban or even a lower 6 guy like Prust. Also, while having a goalie as a captain is, to me, rare. I hear Price has done a good job of rallying the locker room several times in the past. |

Honestly, I find the whole captaincy thing ridiculously overblown. Or, too much is made of it. Those guys are highly paid professionals. They've been playing hockey for as long as they remember. They know what they have to do and they don't need a captain to "lead the way". I'm sure there are plenty of guys speaking loudly in the dressing room when things don't go too well. They don't wait for the guy "wearing the C" to say something. |

They need to appoint a Captain for that reason alone. Just imagine Le Journal de Montréal's front page if they lose 3 straight
