personally I don't like it.

If you are going to have a skills competition win a game then it should be anything goes...IMHO.

It's a skill competition....but only so much skill please.

just think that both shoudl be treated as legit opportunities to put the puck in the net. to try and win a hockey game. i don't think either is the time be all flashy about it. just (frank)ing beat the goalie. like you would try to do if awarded a penalty shot.

it's not a cheer, they're laughing at how stupid it is to score a goal when the puck blatantly moves backwards and the goalie is being obstructed

I don't think they are doing the spin to "not" beat the goalie.

A penalty shot is the direct result of a play neglecting a great scoring chance. For the most part in a game you are not going to see a spin because they won't have time.

A shoot out is a whole different animal. Brought in by the league to add excitement. To me...anything safe should be allowed. If you argued that it was not safe for the goalies because the skate blades are driving right toward the goalie on the move, then sure. I could respect that. But I don't think that's what they are saying.
