Guys, don't say Tallinder sucks in the Leafs thread.

For some reason, he's good. (now)

It's really quite funny.

I have no idea why you guys feel the need to defend every move they make.

Tallinder, blows.

Yes, and what we need is a number 7D. Someone cheap who you can plug in for 20ish games a year and it not be a complete and utter disaster. We don't expect him to be lights out, just not cost us 3 goals for each game that he plays.

It's much better than plugging one of the kids in the box as 7D and stopping him from playing.

I had hoped that would be the case with Boullion and Murray last year but apparently Therrien wouldn't trust any of the younger guys enough and they ended up getting regular ice time. So I guess it will land on Carlyle.

We still have a couple of really bad contracts, so if we can make up for that by getting a veteran guy for under $1m/pa, that also helps. And while a guy like Talinder won't help so much on the ice, he'll be a nice guy for the kids to learn professionalism from, especially the swedish kids that we have in the minors.

We'll see. I love the team, but after last season, don't trust a single decision that Carlyle makes...

True. We do need somebody to fill that void though, and I REALLY hope that it's not one of the kids.

Unless Granberg can come in and relegate Franson to the pressbox

To be honest, I'm relatively happy with how things are shaping up. We've made some smart pickups, and now have much more balance to the team. There's still some holes, but in truth there are few teams without them.

It just means that I'm going to be that much more disappointed when we inevitably (frank) the dog

Well, that should be a given. Just hope that he doesn't get hurt I guess. Who's the backup this year?
