So I still haven’t watched the espn 30 for 30 “big shot” the spano story, so going to watch that tonight. That should get me good and pissed off for the start of training camp

they're probably going to have to update that story since he's being indicted again in Ohio for fraud. That guy can't get his s**t together.

Commiting fraud is not something Spano seems very good at. Maybe he should try and earn a living some other way?

I can see it being funny for an outsider but when you have to listen to it nearly 82 games a year it makes you want to put your face through a plate glass window.

Yes you did ses111. Good attempt to get something going. Try playing Devil's advocate next time! Its always good for an attack (conversation) or two.

Most of us have high hopes for the Isles this season. Excitement over new additions and hopes of a PO run. But lets examine the flip side of the coin and look into some other possibilities for this up coming season.

I really think we will add a vet "D" man just before the season starts.

But if I'm wrong. We're all aware with the problem in our "D'. But they might be deeper then we think.
Lubo and Hamonic could be damaged goods. (concussions) Each maybe one hit from a long stay on IR.

Im sure our rookies will get a look see this season but we have to expect plenty of rookie mistakes. Some may cost a game or two. Its inevitable.

Can DeHaan stay healthy for a FULL NHL season? Especially if someone goes down and his minutes increase. I wouldnt want to put money on that.

Do we have anyone who is capable of stepping up and eating up big mins on the back line if those guys see time on IR? (which looks more likely then unlikely)

JAROSLAV HALAK! Good goalie. Good acquisition.

(although I heard on Sirius XM's NHL Station that the the Isles were his ONLY OPPORTUNITY to sign on as a #1 goalie)

Can he be our #1 and play 60 plus games? In his career. He averages about 30 game a season. Only once played over 50 games. Not exactly a work horse! Can he stay healthy? What does his history say about that?

Is CHAD JOHNSON the answer to fill in for possibly 30 or more games a yr and keep us in the thick of a PO run?

Will Matt Martin, Cal Clutterbuck and Casy Cizikas bring their play back up?

Who will fill out or top line along with KO and JT?

And which KO do we see this season? Last seasons version or the version from previous yrs?

Josh Bailey? Is he going to take a regular shift and stink up the ice again this yr?

Is Cappy"s coaching going lose us critical games? Will he have this team prepared for the start of the season? Or are we out of it by Thanksgiving?

Will JT be protected and stay healthy this yr? Because regardless of everything else. JT is the pivotal factor in the Isles season.

Every team has questions going into a season. As usual, we have lots of em.

Negativity usually generates response.

Ha-ha SCLI. I'll have to remember these things. As much as I have high hopes for the young D, plenty of question marks with this D and team. I also would have felt much better with a proven coach. Hopefully keeping Cappy does not come back to haunt us. Not Giving Weight a look last year was a huge miss. I feel good about the goalies and the forwards for the most part. The D and coach are the huge question marks.

Is Dipietro really on the radio? Are they trying to ruin that as well? Does he wear socks??

Also Capuano is still the coach right? Now he has more players to ruin

Could be an issue, I'm still holding out hope that Snow works a trade out because we have so many forwards

Im sure our rookies will get a look see this season but we have to expect plenty of rookie mistakes. Some may cost a game or two. Its inevitable.
Agreed, par for the course. Nothing to freak out about when it happens

Can DeHaan stay healthy for a FULL NHL season? Especially if someone goes down and his minutes increase. I wouldnt want to put money on that.
Well he played 68 professional games last year with no issues so I'm somewhat optimistic another 10 or so games wouldn't have killed him

Do we have anyone who is capable of stepping up and eating up big mins on the back line if those guys see time on IR? (which looks more likely then unlikely)

Most of his time in St. Louis was splitting time with Elliot, so while he's had some injuries his low games/season avg isn't totally due to that

Is CHAD JOHNSON the answer to fill in for possibly 30 or more games a yr and keep us in the thick of a PO run?

He's a backup goaltender, what did you expect? Plus his numbers with Boston (yes I know he was behind a fantastic defense) were great

Will Matt Martin, Cal Clutterbuck and Casy Cizikas bring their play back up?
Maybe but it won't have a particularly large impact either way, would be great to see though

Who will fill out or top line along with KO and JT?
Nelson, to start anyway

And which KO do we see this season? Last seasons version or the version from previous yrs?
I think he's found his game, he was consistent all year last year.

Josh Bailey? Is he going to take a regular shift and stink up the ice again this yr?
Prediction: No he will lose his roster spot to youngsters that outplay him

Is Cappy"s coaching going lose us critical games? Will he have this team prepared for the start of the season? Or are we out of it by Thanksgiving?
Prediction: He'll be on an extremely short leash and get axed if they start to slide early

Will JT be protected and stay healthy this yr? Because regardless of everything else. JT is the pivotal factor in the Isles season.
Zero worries about his health

I keep saying this about Donovan last year but 90% of the posters here want to douse him in oil and set him on fire. The kid is going to be a good defenseman, but he's singled out and punished for every mistake he makes while others get a pass

At least my post wasnt a total loss.

I Especially like your prediction on Bailey.

I do like Chad Johnson.

Seriously. I'm more optimistic about the Isles this yr than any other yr over the past 10 or so.

true..i do think it is better than last season and i think quality goalies will cover up some of the flaws..they don't need to be top 5 but ifthey go from dead last to around 15-17th in the league in GAA i think they will be fine

The potential is much better but we're going to be depending on a lot of rookies or players with less than two years experience. One major injury and we're in a very bad place and even if we avoid that the youth needs to play above a rookie level. There is a good chance it derails the season. Really would feel better with a top four vet added

I hate to keep being a pr*ck about this, but this scares me more than anything. With a professional, defense oriented system, the kids on the back line don't scare me nearly as much. On the other hand, if they're going to skate all over the place for no apparent godd*mn reason again, we're going to be f***ed. I'm just wondering how far we get into the season before someone recognizes this. I'd almost rather sh*t the bed for the first 5-8 games and have him shown the door, than have them start out well and then spend all of November ruining their chance at a playoff berth before he finally gets relieved (why do I picture diarrhea?) of his duties....
