I was just thinking about Kyle Williams and Fred Jacksons careers and how I will be sad when they end because they are special players. Then I realized those are the only 2 guys who were special players we didn't screw over for no reason.

Aaron Schobel and Terrance McGee are another two.

Career Bills that never sniffed a post season game

Looks like this may go fast, huh?

Honestly, I was hoping this process would move a bit quicker than it has. Though it's moved along pretty quick from what a lot of other people are saying. I just thought it would have been nice to have the owner situation rectified prior to the season starting. I guess a week or 2 into it isn't so bad though.

I have found a few more items missing since last night... Not very expensive items though. Totals will be around $5K Or more I believe. The main tv was $1599 by itself.

Ralph died March 25. It's an asset worth approximately $1Billion dollars, in a highly public, closely watched market. Most people would be pleased to sell their $135,000 house in 6 months.

I thought when this bidding process started, they said they expected it to be complete by early October. Even after the Wilson estate says "Congratulations, Terry, you win", I'm sure there will be a few i's to dot and t's to cross. It sounds like it's right on schedule.

Yeah. I just hate that the whole thing is looming over the heads of the team. Being that the talk of them moving pretty much died months ago, the stability of the franchise seems to be fine at this point.

Remember the whole process when Pegula bought the Sabres from Golisano? It took until well into the New Year to close with all the due diligence and whatnot. I would say that given the fact that this process is an auction with an investment firm involved, the process is actually moving rather quickly.

You need to take steps to make sure they don't come back in the future. Maybe an alarm system, better door.

Oh, definitely. Originally when Ralph died they were saying it could take up to 2 years for a new owner to take over. It's certainly going to be much quicker than that estimate. I just remember when the Rigas thing happened so many of the players saying that as much as they didn't want it to be a distraction, it was. I know this is a different scenario, but you still have to think it's in the back of all of their minds.

Buying a home system today.. What sucks is that I used to have a few cameras up inside the house in 2012 and 2013... But took them down and sold it last year. They took pictures of you when you walked in the door.

The Rigas thing was more of a distraction because it affected them a little more directly. I remember reading an article where Martin Biron (I think) said that there was a point where his paychecks were coming from a different bank every week. In this case, as was the case of the Buffalo Sabres, it was a little more "simple". Play well. Help your team win, and you'll have no problem sticking around. The front office, however, is a different story.

At this point, sure. But when Ralph first died you have to think that guys like Fred Jackson were thinking that the team moving was not something they wanted to happen. He likes Buffalo. Stays here year round. The thought of uprooting his family had to be something that came across his mind.

The front office has to be thinking about this season as a try out. Right now, they need this team to be a winner because if it's not, they very well could have no job next season. I don't see anyone that takes over cleaning house mid season. But at the end of the year, if it goes poorly, those front office people may as well start looking for employment somewhere else.

How do you guys feel about the Kassian/Coho swap at this point?

With Reinhart added to the mix and the possibility of McDavid, Eichel etc being drafted next summer would having depth at the wing in the form of a power forward like Kassian not create a more balanced roster?

It's comical how buffalo has greatly expanded its center depth ( with some real quality) while Vancouver's has been decimated ( at least in the short term) a mere few years after the trade.

Very happy with the Trade . Coho is going to become a quality winger . We have Foligno to replace Kassian . Kassian has shown himself to be a bonehead . He is all yours.

I don't mean to be flippant, but nothing Kassian has done in Vancouver has made me think "damn, I wish the Sabres would have kept him". Depth at every position is cyclical. There are going to be times where teams are stupid deep at a position, and times that it will be really thin. No team is ever incredibly deep at every single position at the same time. The Sabres were thin at center, so they addressed it. I'm sure Vancouver will as well in the upcoming years.

Coho on the wing is still better IMO than Kassian on the wing. Neither player has established themselves as the player that each organization that drafted them hoped they would become. But I would still take a 45-50 point season from Coho than a 25 point season from Kickassian you generally know what you are going to get game in game out from Coho from Kassian its who the hell knows
