I really don't think that IF we won the cup he would be happy having a player refuse to show up for the presidential ceremony or whatever they call it lol that just kind of strikes me as being a big no no to Lou lol |

Colin Greening & a 6th rounder for Damien Brunner. Nothing more. Nothing less.
The Sens have an abundance of bottom 6 forwards. |

If the Devils sign Carter for around 1 million and Gelinas for around 2 million, trade Ryder and Brunner They will have in the neighborhood of 7 million in cap space, more than enough to bring in Thomas or Bryzgalov to back up Cory if Kinkaid and Clemmenson show they can't handle it. - smellmyfinger
You won't be trading Ryder anywhere.you will be very lucky if you can get someone to take him off waivers from you. |

One year at 3.5 I think someone will take him whether it now or at the deadline it's not like he was horrible he played on one of the lowest scoring teams in the league |

Can we find a trade partner for Ryder ? Maybe Detroit ? - blizzzard
Wings have zero need, no cap space or spot for Ryder. They already have too many forwards not even counting Alfredsson who might still play and the fact Jurco and other talented young players likely won't have room on the big club and likely play in the AHL unless there is injuries. So yeah Ryder is about the last thing the Wings need right now. |

Well Detroit ditched him and they're a pretty smart team... But I'm just judging by that small streak he had going I guess before he got hurt last year. I liked Michael Ryder YEARS ago. .. I thought Jersey had a hell of a team last year that just needed to click more. Someone was trying to teach them to bank it in off the post, instead of aiming for the net. Either way, with Schneider, I think we'll be a force to reckon with! I'm curious what the hell they're gonna do about our forward situation though... We're waiting, Lou! - diofan34
Actually Detroit offered him the same contract that the Devils gave him and he refused thinking he could get more...Detroit moved on and spent their money and Brunner ended up signing for the same money he was originally offered by the Wings with the Devils. So the Wings didn't ditch him, he just misjudged his worth in terms of salary and the Wings moved on. |

True, but this is Holland who has made some very questionable moves over the past year or so since Nill has left. |

We already have Larsson, Gelinas , Merrill who will be with the big club then Salvador zidlicky and Greene so I don't see where he fits in since Lou is already having a hard time dealing with the amount of young guys that deserve to be back there already then we have severson, santini and Jacobs this borowiecki guy would be of no worth to us at all and I wouldn't move a third to get rid of Brunner and condra would also be useless we have a complete overload of third and fourth line players which is why Ryder and Brunner need to go or at least one of them. If anything he will be moved for a prospect who will never sniff the nhl or a later round pick but nhl players coming back would defeat the whole purpose of moving him in the first place. |

Babcock wouldn't play him with Datsyuk...that is reserved from prime snipers like Abdelkader who can barely score 10 goals playing with Datsyuk. Babcock would likely play Ryder with Glendening and end up having his worst season ever and a giant waste of money/roster spot. After all Babcock had Legwand playing wing on the 4th line centered by Glendening who couldn't win a faceoff or score unless someone banked a shot off of him by the time the playoffs started last season even after they gave up one of their top center prospects, a 2nd round pick and Eaves for him. |

So he isn't the holy coach everyone makes him out to be ? Deboer shows flashes of brilliance but then he leaves you totally shaking your head when you notice he has benched Larsson and not Salvador and volchenkov lol or puts Gelinas on the second power play unit with thirty seconds left after the puck has been dumped behind our net |

I think the questionable moves started even before Nill left...they started after Bowman left and got worst as Yzerman left and then finally Nill. Now if you question Holland's move some other Wings fans just reply about his past record and accomplishments, that he knows more than we do or that we are not really fans of the team. |

He is a good coach but for some reason has a hard on for hard working average to below average players. He also does stupid things instead of the obvious and can stick with the same thing way too long even when it's clear to everyone it doesn't work. Often takes injuries to force him to play the better players. He tries to fit a square peg into a round hole like using Smith to kill penalties when he's an offensive defenseman who's not great defensively and gives him no powerplay time. The Smith Quincey pair was one of the worst in the NHL and he stuck with it for half the season and even then an injury forced him to change it up. He also says one thing like the best players will play and that is BS.
I doubt any coach would do all the moves we think are right and I don't expect that but he really can do some dumb things sometimes. |
