And does Trestman realize he has 4 downs to get a 1st? FFS. 2nd and 1 and he throws the damn ball twice. Cutler misses Forte wide open in the flat for a 1st down at the end of the game. Instead, he tries to force the ball to Holmes Who had already not been able to make a play in coverage. *sigh*.
Get the ball to your best offensive player. |

We have that to look forward too. Of course, some will say he has potential. |

Bobby Douglas had a cannon for an arm.
How many wasted seasons trying to make him an NFL QB? |

About the same number of years we watched Ken Yaremchuk skate circles in the offensive zone until he lost the puck causing a 3 on 1 break going back the other way. |

Kenny had that play mastered, always hoped he'd leave the puck behind the offensive goal, but always came back to the blue line to lose the puck, only time remember him screwing that play up when he inexplainably passed the puck to Greg Fox in OT in the playoffs that one year and Fox scored to win the game |

Thanks. As if watching the Bears wasn't bad enough, you had to remind me of Greg Fox. Man, was he horrible. |

Gms will also look at the fact that Versteeg has been traded 4 times in the last 5 seasons, That will impact his value. The value in trading Versteeg isn't so much in what you get in return but the cap space you need.
The issue with Leddy is he going to need a new contract after this season. His cap hit is 2.7M already. For what he brings to a team as a 5th D-man, he can be replaced with a cheaper alternative. The reality is the Hawks will need that cap space next season. Moving him now will garner the best return.
And playing him in a top 4 role would be foolish no matter what minor improvements he has made. If any.
It comes down to who has more value to the Hawks. Leddy or one of Saad, Shaw or Kruger? All three of those players are better at what they do than Leddy. - Elbows15
You mentioned four young players in Leddy, Saad, Shaw, and Kruger. This season may be telling as each one takes another step forward in development and their value to the team. Conversley, they may improve only a tad or regress is certain aspects of the game.
It is a long season. Their final grade may change from their ranking you and others would give at various points in the season.
I wouldn't want to guess whom might be more likely to get moved. Their performance will help give seperation as to whom stays or goes in Bowman's mind.
I would be willing to bet on something else. I suspect that eventually Dahlbeck and if not next year, then the following year at least a couple of Rockford prospects will find a spot on the roster. Among forwards they will play well on bottom lines. On defense Johns style will have an impact. But may have to live with some bad and good with him. Eventually might Johns be more than a third pair type? Who knows? But there are other prospects on defense as well as TT and other prospects moving closer to pro contracts. Guys that were in rookie camp. Competition is a good thing

Versteeg, Rozy and Leddy to the Devils for a 2nd? - Elbows15
Lou Lamoreillo has prospects and retreads he would turn to before he looks at the NHL scrap heep. As far as Chicago goes, Versteeg and Rosival is scrap heep. And although the Devils GM is wary to play youngsters soon, he would give his own prospects a bit of a look before he makes a deal for a young guy like Leddy. Just my humble opinion. I believe that Lamoreillo prefers to take a conservative approach as much as possible. I doubt he would take more than one of those players from Chicago.
Lamoreillo is an astute judge of talent. What might he think about Leddy upside? Hmmm.
Late edit: Devils have some young dmen looking to establish their role and value on the blueline. Adding another young dman seems not too likely. Of course if it is a primary concern to obtain a puck rushing dman.....but I do not see the teams completing a trade. |

The D was a let down? Did the D turn the ball over 3 times? 13 of those points against are on the offense. - Ogilthorpe2
Jay Cutler is the biggest waste of dough since Cristobal Huet and Adam Dunn and Alfonso Soriano. I wish Cutler had half the heart and stones as Andrew Shaw. Cutler is a wise arse punk to boot. Trestman? Washed up CFL milquetoast coach. What's up with that? Iron Mike where are you? Lol |
