I can just see Yak's value among posters here slowly dropping to the negatives in that Ek thread holy poop. Even some oiler posters are turning on him.

No it shouldn't unless there is a weird rule if you go from junior to a pro league. But remember Klefbom spent a couple years in the SEL without burning years off his contract

Yak's situation was different due to the lockout. I don't think you can only burn half a year, so he lost a full year.

I guess one upside to the larger ice is it would make him improve his skating that much more to compete.
