Are they? - 1979AD
They lost one of 2 30 goal scorers...so I'd so no.
I think Eriksson will have a good year on the top tine and one of spooner or khoklachev could slot in nicely one Soderberg's line. That will help mitigate some of the negatives attributed to losing Iginla, but it doesn't make us better.
More experience after last year on the younger defensemen is a positive though |

I just think with the improvement on the back end and actually have NHL 3rd/4th lines is going to make the difference.
leafs have some harder working players, with size.
Booth-Santorelli-Winnik are all decent big guys with NHL experience under their belt, all looking to have a good season so they can get a Raymond type deal for next year.
I have faith, more faith than last year.
coaching is their biggest issue, coaching... - Lucas Neilson
This team will live or die by how the defence performs.
And I don't want to talk about the coaching. |

If the Panthers move to Kingston, who will Don Cherry cheer for? - Atomic Wedgie Canada and the US should have their own leagues and compete for the cup in a World Series platform. Every Canadian city over 90,000 would have a team. But the big cities like the current NHL ones would be in a higher tier. Let supply and demand dictate where hockey resides. |

as fans we always assume our teams have improved if for no other reason than the young kids are another year older but if it was a given, every team would always get better and the Oilers wouldn't be such an out of control tire fire every year. |

How many cities in Canada have pops >90k?
edit: 57 from Tdot to Red Deer. That's a few too many, no? If you made the cutoff 200k, Regina might be able to squeak in making it 24. |

So you don't expect Galchenyuk to be better this year? |

Seattle is a wealthy city with lots of affluent white people (i.e. typical hockey fans) and no winter sports competition. like a West Coast Minneapolis minus the bball team. they've shown themselves to be embracing of non traditional US sports (best fanbase in MLS). i think hockey can do well there. Vegas... that's a tough one. would be very boom or bust. |

i do but i don't expect him to make such a leap that it will reflect itself in the team's overall success... unless he ends up becoming a 70-point player. but that would be a ridiculous leap for a player over one year. |

i couldnt agree more.
vegas will have few fans i imagine, but because so many people are going in and out of vegas, perhaps if the tickets are low enough price they will have a LOT of randoms going to the game - maybe.

I'd have to say no with Vegas... But maybe they could kinda brainwash a lot of tourists to buy a hockey jersey if they have nice colours, and if they make the playoffs they'll have lots of bandwagon fans. Seattle could make a good rivalry with the Nucks.. But from what I understand it's a basketball first mentality city. |

Fair enough. I on the other hand am a Leafs fan, so I expect 50+ from Rielly and Kadri to flirt with 90. |
