Raptors still only real saving grace....maybe? FC is going to continue to struggle with Dafoe likely leaving from the sounds of it...Jays can't stop crapping the bed...and the Leafs..well, they havent exactly been super. - Colin Dambrauskas

Less "harsh" lighting than LED - Aetherial
I agree, I have a 43" Toshiba plasma in the living room. Big glare. Nice TV, Beautiful picture. Same Size LED LG in the Dining room / Kitchen. The Sharp is Nice, inexpensive for a 60" it was the best buy.
No sure if can even buy a crappy one any more |

First place in the CFL East!
...with a 3-7 Record.
Really.
The West is a combined 33-13, while the East is 8-28.
What a disaster. |

To be fair to them this year, they have played well over their heads for most of the season. They are well behind the good teams in MLB with regards to pitching, infield defense and depth. The 3 most important things for a ball team. People jump on the bandwagon far too hard this year.
The Jays didn't poop the bed this year, they have performed quite awesomely considering their GM decides to roll with a starting rotation of:
Richardey
Buerhle
Hutchinson
Prospect/Min contract guy
Happ

Blacks arent that great on plasma.
Angled viewing isnt great and neither is bright light.
Havent had any of the above concerns with my LED.
I have plasma, LCD and LED tv's...I prefer plasma the least.
Now, could the plasma tech have improved over the years...for sure...but Im not too impressed with them even when I see new ones in stores.
Again...just IMO. - Fakepartofme
everyone does have a different opinion and personal preference, but it is actually disappointing that plasmas are soon to be dead:
Advantages of Plasma
Deep Blacks
Due to the fact that plasma displays have the ability to completely turn off individual pixels, they boast far better black levels than LCD displays. Although LCD tech has improved over the years, the panels still aren’t that great at blocking out light completely, which makes it really hard for them to achieve true blackness on dark scenes. This is especially true of CCFL-backlit LCD screens. Some LED-backlit LCD TVs with local dimming can achieve black levels comparable to those of plasma TVs, but they’re generally much more expensive.
Strong Color Saturation
Because of the way they’re designed, plasma TV’s are also better at controlling the relative level of brightness of each red, blue, or green subpixel, so they typically produce greater contrast, more realistically textured images, and richer colors than their LCD counterparts.
Wide Viewing Angle
Plasma displays also tend to have much better viewing angles than LCD TVs, mostly because the polarizing filters on LCD panels tend to cut out light that isn’t traveling straight forward. Since plasma displays don’t rely on filters to manage the light you see, their pictures can be enjoyed from a relatively wide angle without losing any integrity. Some higher end LCD TV’s incorporate technology to improve viewing angle, but most still aren’t on par with plasma displays

Nope. It just moves the conversation along if you say that.
It's the same way i daren't say, i don't think Dion is terrible and may actually benefit from having the luxury of playing another NHL defenseman before he retires. |
