Nichushkin - Dal
MacKinnon - Col
Landeskog - Col
Nugent-Hopkins - Edm
Yakupov - Edm
Hall - Edm
Johansen - Clb
Fowler - Ana
Scheifele - Win
Hertl - SJ

I'm sure there's tons more but you get my point. Many teams have multiple young stars that are performing now. At 21 or 22. Only to get better while maturing in the NHL.

Obviously most of those guys are high 1st round picks but I believe you need of few of those to be successful. That's why we got the twins (2nd and 3rd overall) and that's why we have been a successful regular season team over the years. How the hell is this team going to get a player like that if they keep treading water by filling spots with fringe NHL players and finishing 16 to 20?

No not at all . If you pay attention what I am trying to say is that this team was poop last year and had the second worst record after January and a flake like Booth was playing better than all the other wingers except Kassian.

Booth is a horrible winger yet he outplayed the teams other wingers that you are putting on a silver platter.

Canucks finished 24 th last year , got rid of their top scorer, two starting goalies, and their top scoring Dman. They let one of their better centres Santorelli and their top winger Booth walk for nothing.

They are bringing in Sbisa , Vey and Bonino miller and Vrbata and this will raise us 12 spots in the standing?

I have trouble believing that sorry.

After next year they will have McDavid Reinhardt Hodgson and Grigerenko as their centres . That will a team to be taken seriously

If Canucks bombed this year which they could we would have McDavid Bonino Horvat
McCann and Vey down the middle.

That would be serious strength down the middle for a team wanting to contend for the cup.

By that point it was obvious that injuries, coaching, management, the Luo fiasco, were going to derail the season (in fact most of us were generally concerned about the Torts hiring, the Luongo distraction, and management moves before the season even started - throw in a ton of man-games lost due to injury and you have your 2013 Canucks)

I mean, how many more variables does one have to list to demonstrate how these all combined for a major clusterf*ck. Would any team have finished better, given these circumstances?

They had the second worst record but were by far the worst team I thought. It was brutal hockey, absolutely unwatchable.

That said, I think even without their changes they are closer to a playoff bubble team then whatever that mess was. Easy to be optimistic at this time of year though.

There are just as many intangibles this year, and IMO many many more question marks.

You need pretty well everyone of the core players to improve and mesh with new line mates and a new coaching staff and a new system.

I think the planets would have to align again for the Canucks to have another god awful season. And yes, there are questions marks, as is the situation for any team, but I feel even just getting rid of the Tortorella style of play will do wonders in itself.

Should they be god awful. So be it. Im honestly not really an optomist. Im a realist and firmly believe we will be watching playoff hockey next season.

Like I said. We are not a contender. But the problem last year was the system and only the system. Hence why you'll never see Torts behind a bench again. His old school antics are crap. And him rushing the Calgary dressing room as ammusing as it was does not belong in the game. And I wS embarrassed to be a Canucks fan when he did it.
