[quote=laughs2907]Pronger... 2014 draft

I've never seen them hand out awards at the draft before. Strange that they used an NHL hockey awards backdrop at the draft too.

Still... that blonde is quite the hottie.

That's a horrible idea for a trade and there is 0% chance that it would ever happen. Perhaps you need rehab?

As has been said repeatedly more would need to be going to the Oilers. A 1st rounder added? Or perhaps young Subban?

Strange thread.

There are several teams with long term cap issues that will be even more severe next year. The teams with the most obvious cap problems are Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia.

Clearly, other teams are not going to bail them out by giving them a sweetheart deal. Edmonton knows Boston has nowhere else to go. It is Boston that will need to sweeten this deal (a lot) before Edmonton even answers the phone.

bruins have no intrest in yak. He will demand to much next year and head to Russia anyway. Boychuk and Kelly for perron and a pic with edm retaining some salary

Here's a deal that makes more sense for both sides: Chris Kelly for Anton Lander.

Boston gets a low-end NHLer/high end AHLer with great leadership and defensive ability, and it solves their cap problem.

Edmonton gets a little more stability at centre and more of that good old leadership.

Boston does not take on "projects"
They like their players a "certain way"
They were quick to ship out Joe Thornton and Sequin.
No chance.

Yak's heading to russia? When?
Who told you this?

Oh right, conjecture as facts to back up a weak argument. The hockeybuzz way of doing things...

Yeah good luck with that , the oilers don't trade their high draft pick forwards at all, let alone for that deal.

Somewhat agree with the point ur attempting to make.

However, I do think if the oilers dont take some very positive steps forward this season, the first and yaks/ebs will certainly be on the table

False.

3.5 mill in cap space right now for next summer, and that's if the cap doesn't rise at all. A rough estimate of 71 mill for the cap plus Pronger on LTIR gives the Flyers like 10 mill in cap space to sign/call up 3-4 forwards, 2 D, and a goalie.

Not ideal, but they're working with much worse right now. Definitely not "more severe" next year.

Now, if we give Coburn a raise and can't dump Lecavalier, then we will have a HUGE problem for 16-17 with Voracek, Couturier, Raffl and Schenn all needing deals.

Where do we sign? On Chris Kelly's No-Trade waiver?
