I think Eberle is a more realistic target as brought up by some of the Oilers faithful. (still a premium to get him, but can't deny his worth)
Lucic, Bergeron, Eberle would be a killer top line - DDM-Coga
Dat line tho |

Followed up by
Marchand, Krejci, and Smith...not too shabby of a top 6 again |

I don't see any way Boston makes this deal unless they can get Edmonton to throw in Nugent-Hopkins and/or Eberle + future pick. |

True enough. Tough to get though. - CubanBuffet
We have probably 3 or 4 second pair d-men already....The need we have on D won't be filled by JB ( tho I love the player and we don't have another like him) a true top Pairing D-Man would have me consider almost any offer . |

Me too man, me too. That might be the hardest asset to acquire though. Look what the Flyers were willing to pay to just try and get one and look at what Nashville was willing to pay to keep one. |

Bruins can actually sign RFAs and put Savard on LTIR last day of Training camp. It is option 2 of LTIR which can be found on CapGeek. Since the Bruins would be over the cap putting Savard on LTIR counts as already having replaced him so if you do not replace his full cap hit you lose that space. Bruins would have to get as close to 4 mill over the cap as they can with extra call ups, then demote them day 1 of the season. That is at least how I understood it. |

Pointless rule. Everyone and their dogs know that Savard won't play again. Why should the Bruins have to jump through hoops just because a player was severely injured. |

Not if he wasn't on your team. I imagine watching Nuge get the Sedin treatment would turn your stomach pretty quick. |

I don't understand your post? Why should the Bruins have to jump through hoops? Because they can keep their team the way it is and not lose any players to get under the cap...... He signed for 3 years and he will continue to count against the cap until he retires which he won't because if he does then he doesn't get paid. There is no real way to prove he will never play again. There is nothing a team can do with an injured player beside LTIR, same goes with Pronger. |

Yeah but it's a long drawn out process for what everyone knows will happen anyway. I think if a player misses over a year to injury they should be able to retire, regardless of age, with no cap penalty to the team. |

And it was bs for you guys as well. It's bad enough to lose a player of Pronger and Savards calibre but then you have to make all these symbolic moves to manage the cap. I understand why it's handled that way, but there has got to be a better system for dealing with long term and career ending injuries. |

So who do you think might get exposed on waivers this fall by the Bruins? |
