I may get blasted for this, I have season tickets I share for the Oilers and watch a lot. Hoping that Schultz can continue to get better I would consider moving him as a secondary Oiler fan. Sign him to a contract extension and trade him for a capable 2nd line center as insurance. We know the Oilers history with injury and losing RNH would spell doom, that would leave Edmonton with a first line replacement and Arco to step back to 2c. Unfortunately, where do you slot him in the time being? Maybe have Drasaitl play AHL to develop his game pending a call-up. I know a lot of rival fans are tough on Schultz, but it's more a jealousy thing. They could fetch a great 2c for Schultz (Jordan Staal-type?).

One thing to consider, Schultz will demand 5+ next year as I believe he will improve and in the cap world, it's a juggling act. The Oil have a few good prospects to step in and fill the hole he would leave. Just an idea - nothing serious.
What do you think?

BTW - I wouldn't trade Yak, he's going to net 40 goals eventually.

So I googled "places to stay in OKC" and it kept saying "stay at yzermanistheman's mom's place". I didn't know you were an Oklahoma native buddy.

I thought this was interesting. I don't know how Bruins fans would feel about it especially considering that they're in win-now mode, but I think the value is close enough when you account for the fact that Boychuk is a UFA.

To BOS: Eberle and a late round pick

To EDM: Eriksson and Boychuk (perhaps giving a brief negotiation window regarding resigning prior to the trade)

You mean because he had his first ever bout with concussions last season? I'm more inclined to think last season was an anomaly rather than a normal occurrence based off Eriksson's history.

I'd be weary of him.

If he can stay healthy those vets would help the Oil for sure.

I understand the concern, but I look at how well guys like Crosby, Bergeron, and even Perron have recovered from their concussions and I ask, why can't Eriksson do the same? There are examples of the opposite as well, but I don't think Eriksson plays with enough of an edge for me to be that worried.

While Eberle is the biggest piece in the deal, I think Eriksson replaces most of the offense lost from Eberle- plus some outstanding defensive play, and Boychuk deepens our defense to a point similar to non-Pronger mid-2000s.

I'd think Boston wouldn't be willing to deal 2 roster players. They traded Seguin for Eriksson too, so I'm thinking they love his playing style. 2way, good-sized winger versus small scoring winger, which'd fit BOS's system?

Say BOS was into it, who's left out when Boychuk's on the roster? Ference? Trade Petry for a C(which I would hate)?

It could be a very big and complicated deal bw Oil and Bruins just so the cap relief works for the Bruins.

To add Ebs they would have to move out Kelly, Eriksson, and Boychuk. in separate or a combined deal.

Drai cannot go to the AHL as he is too young. Back to junior or Europe are his only other options. He has stated if he doesn't make the Oil he is going to Europe for the year. He has little to nothing to prove in junior anymore so playing against men is probably best for him.

I'm not opposed to moving Jultz for a legit 2c, but I don't see MacT making that move. Jultz seems to be his golden boy, and he really is the only big offensive weapon we have on the back end. If he can clean up his defensive liabilities he will be vital to the D core and worth more than that 2c who we really only need for 2 years until Drai is hopefully ready to take the roll.

I agree it's a big chunk of top end talent for Boston to give up, and known commodities at that, although Boston didn't get to see a ton of Ericsson last year, but they're likely going to have to give up a roster player regardless to stay cap compliant and they may have a tough time resigning Boychuk, unless he's willing to give them a discount. Eberle might lessen the sting a bit.

As for whose spot he takes, right now he's an upgrade over every other D you have. Nothing wrong with depth on D.

Lame. She talked about being an auntie for what seemed like an hour. It could've been less, but in that time I managed to knod, say yes and oh yeah, and design my new bathroom ( including costing estimates) in my head almost to perfection.

So who might we lose to waivers this fall if they don't make the team? Not sure of the exemption rules....
