In the last expansion you did not have to protect prospects or 1st and 2nd year pros. So no need to have Nurse, Klef, LD or marincin on you lists.

As it stands right now, it looks like we won't have to leave anyone good unprotected. Neither will anyone else, to be honest, but I wonder if some of those long term contracts will be exposed?

All I could see being left out from that group.

Maybe Staal depending how badly Carolina wants to de-Staal itself. The rest are players that are good enough to get a return in a trade versus giveaway.

Could be the easiest way for Florida and Washington to rid themselves of Orpik and Bolland. Could see Seidenberg go too.
