I don't see Thornton waiving at all TBH. But if he did I think the interest league wide would be more than what I'm reading today. |

3 years left on his deal, manageable cap hit, and looks like he will continue to be a consistent 60-70 point player. He was 13th in scoring last year. Sure the 100 pts days are over , but he's hardly a washed up scrub.
On most teams he will still be the 2nd or 3rd most productive player, if not the most. - Jeropotato
Its only manageable if team is able to obtain it. 2nd- No team will give up young studs for an aging vet, even if still productive. I just felt that your possible deals where a little on the " No Way" trade aspects.
GM's rather have a young stud for the next 10yrs instead of a productive expensive vet for 3yrs, if you get my logic?

it would have to be a team that would be a serious contender, cause i can't see teams moving young talent for old joe |

Bozak for Crosby is a bit of an exaggeration, you'd have to throw in Dupuis as well

Get off the blue kool aid - Garnie
Kadri has more points the past two seasons. But Couture is a star and Kadri is a piece of crap.
Kadri is very, very underrated.
These players in non hockey markets never face one bit of criticism. |

I have no ide what he will get, but I am certain it would be similar to what Columbus got for Rick Nash. - Jeropotato
No bc Nash is younger in comparison to Jumbo.... |

Sure....but I would still take Joe over Nash because because he is the better and more productive hockey player. |

Keep in mind also, Nash got Columbus a lot less than was speculated.
These trades never fetch what people think they will. Just read what the media thought the Canucks would get for Kesler.
Thorton won't get the Sharks a Kadri/Gardiner package. |

Sure, you don't have to like it, but Thornton is way more effective than either of those guys. I get the asset management arguement but you're only kidding yourself if you think you will win more games with those guys than with Joe .
I like what the Isles are doing but if you think you're 'set' with those guys than you have me confused. Set for what? A division Championship? Conference title? Stanley Cup?
Joe Thornton would be the 2nd best player on your team. - Jeropotato
Brock Nelson could be a Jumbo Joe, but to say that the Isles would be better off is foolish, sorry bro but the Isles not 1 impact player away from championship material. Plus I'd rather have the next 10yrs of Lee/Nelson than Joe's 3yrs, hands down...... |

For sure, you have to ready to go for it to make a move for Joe, or at least ready to make a major move forward. I would do it if I were Edmonton and he were willing to waive. |

No Kadri's not a piece of poop but Couture is better
Kadri had a good 1/2 season - last year Couture played 13 less games and had more points.
I like Kadri, just don't think he's as good.
I guess this will be the year to tell.

He still hit 50 points with bad wingers. This idea he had a bad season is silly.
Couture does not deserve the accolades he's getting, and would not get them on the Leafs. |

Sure, I get it. They aren't at that stage yet, and they've been doing the slow build for a while, no need to mess with the program if the urgency isn't there. |

I remember....
Its highly unlikely that trading a star player and thinking that a team will get back equal or better return....
Plus like u said, expect less bc that's what other teams offer.....

They did, but more was initially expected. The Toronto media slobbering over "Franchise Player"
Rick Nash was pretty ridiculous. |
