It's crazy to think about! A place has similar weather to another place 3000 miles (or whatever it is) south of it.

Coastal or not, who would ever think Chicago and Anchorage have similar weather. Blows my mind.

I've been watching the home and home games between the Pens and Flyers in late March just to watch good competition and a few notes in case we haven't discussed these at length this summer.

*I understand why Matt Read doesn't get a lot of PP time because he needs to be free for PK and defensive responsibility but man is he good. I'm doubting weve seen the best of him and he might be a player who's been held back a little. Personally watching Couturier and Read together, I think they have something more special then Giroux and Voracek.

*Not pointed out in our discussion with morning but Simmonds really not only hustles out there but he's really strong along the walls, Wow!

*I don't think there is a bright spot to Timonen getting hurt but with Hartnell already traded, it's gonna be tough to build chemistry with a new number Power Play unit. I mean, everything may have filtered through Giroux but everyone was just one the same page. Even when that first unit had nothing going for it, something would be created out nothing. They knew how to find one another. They tracked the puck well. They recovered well from mistakes, intercepting possible clears. Incredible.

*Lecavalier to me doesn't look as bad as some make him sound and this is a game where he is playing LW. He's not quick but the offensive instincts are clearly there. I think his play could go either way.

*Mason was incredible!

The Penguins was unable to put out their best roster but the Flyers really came to play. I would recommend watching these two games if you wanna see the last time we had a full roster, the Flyers strengths and coaching.

Knuble had no skill.

I'll address Knuble because I was very unhappy when we acquired him. Oddly enough, I was also very unhappy when he left (the first time).

In the end, he was much better than the cherry-picking, over-sized and under-speedy forward I thought he was when the Flyers brought him on board.

Yea, Knuble was another one of those players who was unfairly labeled as too slow. Which wasn't the case. He certainly wasn't fast, but he wasn't slow either. Average skater.

I can't think of a player who was really that slow outside of Pronger, Rathje and Hatcher in recent years.
