We sill have not signed Ryan Jones? The Oiler management says they want defensive minded "team first" players but they continue to ignore those who actually do play with heart. Ryan Jones lead all Oiler forwards in Plus/minus, yet he is one of the least paid and most over looked on the team. I remember when Scrivans got that 60 shot shutout, Ryan Jones made a diving play to keep a sure goal from going in. How many other Oiler forwards do you see with their bellies in their own blue paint? Management "obviously" couldn't care less! Heart, grit, team defence, are not rewarded. They seem to be all caught up with words like "Pedigree"? Who cares how dedicated you are to the "team" If you want to get a multi million dollar salary on this team you need only skate one way down the ice. You can be minus 22, who cares as long as you have "pedigree".

THey are weak on the Wings for Proven NHL talent, they have Caron, Spooner, or Koho (Russian dude). Cant see them moving Marchand until they have those guys prove they can be in the Top 9

I think the Bruins will be fine after this season. They have overage issues and also for some reason have like a 6M 4th line with a bunch of money for expensive replacement players coming off the books.

They only real pressing concerns are Krejci and Boychuk.

They just need to get creative to get through this season.

I think so too. Marchand had a poopty playoffs and has been rumoured to be a partier like Seguin was before he was was dealt. I can very much see us signing Boychuk as a UFA in the next offseason though.

It was just a bit of blindsided homerism bc of how well he pairs with Chara apparently. Which is ok to be a fan of your guy and call him underrated. But to say hes elite level bc he compliments an elite guy in chara was a bit head scratching.

I do like Seidenberg but I thought he would have been the easy target to let go if Hamilton, Krug, and Barkowski have big years as well. They have a pipeline to replace those minutes

Remenda was likely canned for being too honest in SJ. Owners and GM's don't apparently don't like it when you call out your team when they are playing crappy on a televised or radio coverage of the game.

Tom Larscheid in Vancouver, as the colorman on Team 1040, was canned for similar reason. Gillis didn't like him talking negatively about the team when they were sucking. Amazingly enough team management and ownership has the power to influence these positions.

I don't think I want him after thinking about it. What is he going to want 5+ years at 5 even 6mil a year?

I still have my concerns that he's just a more physical Petry. Which we need, but is he worth that kind of money at 31 years old and a guy that has a lot of miles on his body?

And Remenda is a good colorman, I would have liked him here in Van.
