I wouldn't necessarily say that but the style they play is definitely one suited well for the playoffs

Johanson, Anisimov and Dubinski are probably top half in the league as far as a 1-2-3 punch go.

Johanson is definitely up there(at least if he keeps up what he did last season), but there are a lot of guys I would take over Anisimov and Dubinsky. I wouldn't really call either of them legitimate 2nd line Centres. I would take quite a few guys over them

this argument about columbus is ridiculous. Columbus is good. They're trending upward. NJ has improved from last year, but will be "rebuilding" ever since their 2 stars in their prime up and left. We weren't planning on that.. and a rebuild wouldn't have been necessary if they stayed, especially given all the great young D in the system. We would've been golden. such a shame. a joke really. we were set for a nice handful of years to be a LOT better than we have been. oh well.

Todd, that writeup stating positive things about Gomez wasn't good for me. It makes me want to see him in a Devils uniform and feel great that were getting a player back that was so good for us.. similar to how it felt getting Shanny back, Holik, Sykora, and to a lesser extent.. Rolston. They weren't supposed to be game changers (except Rolston), but it felt good bringing them back. Gomez IS a tie to the good ol days .. but we can't confuse him for something he's not. Yes, he did OK with Cam.. but that was years ago, he's only regressed since then.

I honestly feel like Josefson may be better than him. .. maybe even faster than the once fleet of foot Gomez.

if they're top half, then they're at the bottom of the top half. They're in the middle of the pack. Johanson doesn't strike fear in me as a top center. Anismov isn't that hard to contain. Dubinsky is decent, but there are far better 2nd line centers in the league. He'd make a heck of a 3rd line C tho.

I actually hope he makes it. I played against Gomez as a kid in AK, and wish him the best. What the hell if he earns a spot, well then he earns a spot, it sure are poop isn't going to be given to him. Watch him have a 20+ goal year for 600k.

Gomez has gotten 20+ goals once in his career. I think he will be closer to the 2 goals he has averaged the last 3 seasons. I hate to say it but this guy looks done.

fearless prediction: 3 goals,11 assists, 14 points in 45 games with some team

By the looks of it that's the way it played out, lets see what happens if he plays in the ahl if he female doges and moans

Scott Gomez was Ville Leino before any of us ever heard of Ville Leino. UFAs that accept these monster paydays and then cannot perform at the new level are way too common in the NHL. GMs have to become smarter on these contracts. So do player agents.

Never going to happen. Agents want to get paid and the GMS/owners are complete idiots who can't help themselves.

Laughable that he felt he was worth more money then both patrik Elias and Marty Broduer who both took less money but I guess that's why there is karma

Gionta and Gomez both owe Elias some money.

Whatever they are handing out to you people I want some. Dubi had 16 goals and 50 points. He was playing 2nd line minutes. Travis Zajac, Todd's Corsi/Fenwick god almighty, playing 1st line minutes was only able to put up 48 points.

Zajac doesn't get mentioned without Jagr, they're a package deal

Not sure where this argument started, sure CBJ is better than NJ right now, but I have a real hard time having a fan of a team with 2 franchise playoff wins talking trash. It's like 2 years ago when all of the Islanders and Leafs fans thought they were hot $hit because they made the playoffs for the first time in forever. Win a playoff series before you start talking crap to a team with 3 cups. The Devils are doing pretty alright considering two all star forwards in their prime just up and left for nothing. When's the last time that happened to any team?

I was at that Kovy shootout fail game, not sure your point. Kovy's better than any player in CBJ franchise history.
