Can't tell what you're getting at with this. Kevin Hayes was basically a player the Rangers got for free. Also, it's not like the team that drafted him just refused to sign him. You'd be thrilled if the he and the Devils had come to an agreement. - tomburton99
It was a reference to the fact that Chicago fans all said he wanted to be handed a roster spot without earning it. Which is what the OP was advocating in his comment.
It has nothing to do with Hayes' playing ability or anything like that. |

I actually hope he makes it. I played against Gomez as a kid in AK, and wish him the best. What the hell if he earns a spot, well then he earns a spot, it sure are poop isn't going to be given to him. Watch him have a 20+ goal year for 600k. |

He should make the team. Probably be a good fit too. |

That would be a win for Gomez, since if you are a healthy scratch it means you have a contract. |

Dude hasn't scored 20+ in a single season in 8 years. And has a combined 19 goals since 2010-11. What ever you're on, I want some. - blacksheep1
I am new to hockey so I looked up this 'Columbus Blue Jackets' team on wiki, and this is what I found:
Stanley Cups
0
Conference championships
0
Presidents' Trophies
0
Division championships
0
Conference championships
0
Presidents' Trophies
0

Awesome!
I was being facetious with 20 goals, you guys are soooo smart that you totally picked up on it. |

Everyone's clearly missing the point. Lou is bringing in Gomez to show to the rest of the team "See, this is what happens when you leave us for more money in a bigger market." The Devils should have a Scott Gomez poster hanging in the locker room. Should have had that poster up before Parise and Clarkson left. |

Each franchise has 1 playoff appearance over the last 4 years.
You guys may have a pretty good young defense. But that's it. Call me a homer when I say a team with a younger and better forward group is on the up and up.
Also Bob>>>>>Corey. |

A cup final vs a first round exit are hardly comparable, and I wouldn't bet the bank that Bobs (I won't say he isn't good) is five alligators better than Schneider. |

Bobrovsky has 95 NHL win at age 25, playing on, "what you think to be" an inferior CBJ team. Also has little something called a Vezina trophy. But Corey Schneider has what exactly? |

I never said CBJ was inferior, I actually like the Jackets. You just trolled my comment, so I gave you a little sumin sumin to put in your cannon. You see when you show up on another teams blog and talk ish, you might get back trolled, but It's all good pal no worries. Hey when we were eliminated from contention, I was all for you guys having a run. Bobs is great, never said he wasn't, I just don't think hes five alligators better than Cory. Schneider has a lot of dollars to earn this year. He is the undisputed #1 now, hopefully he is what we think he is. |

Not a problem. Just thought it was silly to point out Columbus's apparent lack of success, considering how new they are in the league. How good the Oilers are now and over the 10 years is irrelevant to the conversation. |

Just my opinion, and I happen to like both teams, but I think Schneider is the better goalie, and that Columbus looks like a team built for playoffs. Solid Defense, deep at center , big and tough. I think Columbus showed what they are capable of in the playoffs, and that they will be even better this season. |

I wouldn't necessarily say that but the style they play is definitely one suited well for the playoffs |
