Only difference is I think its actually possible.

As per the draft nucker knows. I know there is a good group in the top 5 and for the right price there is someone could move into a good spot.

That's a good point. Despite the changes Mac T made to support the kids and bolster the defense, until they win more hockey games there's no reason to assume they will be any better.

Hall RNH and Eberle are no longer kids. I can see them ahead of us in the playoff race. Their forwards are better than ours IMO .I am not sure we don't struggle to score goals this year.

This is a transition year for the Canucks.
Lowered expectations could lead to a pleasant surprise.
A lot of positive moves made over the summer, with the exception of the Miller signing.

What did our top 6 centres get last year. Kids these days are playing at 4 yrs old. Much more NHL ready.

Kids were playing at 4 years old then too. Sure, training is better now and younger players are more ready, but so are "older" players. Unless you think this kid is the next P.Kane or N. MacKinnon then 70 points would be the exceptional result. So I stand by my statement, a productive season for a first year player would be 40 points.

Why are you expecting a lot from the Oilers players, who continue to finish in the bottom of the league despite putting up ok numbers, but you're not expecting much from our players?

Who put up OK numbers, aside from Hall, Eberle and Perron?

Last year was awful for Edmonton, with Sophomore Slumps from Yak and Schultz, RNH missing training camp, Gagner Injured, and Devan Dubnyk absolutely putting on the worse Oilers goaltending performance since Mikail Stalenkov , not to mention a new (inexperienced) coach and syatem.

Now I don't expect all of those things to be corrected and for the Oilers to make giant leaps...but FFS...they should!

Team Hope or Team Doom?

Canucks' writers start to take sides as they get back to work. Lots of new material in today's blog:
