You guys can wait. I got this response from plenty of people. I don't have to wait for anything. I know what I saw.

The first time I saw Gallagher in person, just in a practice, I said to myself that there was no question he'd be in the NHL within a year. And there he was.

- EricEngels

First time I saw him was in his first scrimmage at camp the year he was drafted, he was getting pushed, buried in front of the net, but kept getting back up and going for more. Couldn't really say back then if he would make it or not, but definitely thought he was special

I've never seen Sekacalder play but we've seen many cases of guys coming over from Europe as FA signing and never fully adjust to the NHL.

Don't get me wrong, I really hope he turns out to be pretty good but I will wait until the first few games of the season before I start my calder robot voting system.

I'm not saying he's going to win the Calder. I'm just telling you he's going to be in the NHL this year, and likely from the start of the year.

He was on the ice with some bonafide stars yesterday. He stood out. The skills are very impressive, believe me. The work ethic is more impressive. He's a big boy too.

I played bad in the first 18.
Made it a match in the second.

He was 2 over through 30 holes...

He saunters down to secure the nets, not wanting to wait for targets. His blades cut the sounds of NHL strides. His shot blisters off the crossbar at NHL speed, transferred from wrist to stick-tape with the ease you expect from an NHL sniper. He dangles, smoothly and precisely. He smiles when Tampa Bay Lightning forward Jonathan Drouin steps on the ice, as the two exchange saucers and bullet-paced one-timers before the heavy lifting of intense drills play out over the next hour and a half.

beautiful stuff EE.

Can't wait for camp to start...I'd say he's probably ahead of De La Rose and Andrighetto to make it right now. De La Rose is only 19, and will need time in Hamilton in my opinion. As for Andrighetto, size is the problem, he'll need a very strong camp to make it, or at least leave his mark and hope to be the first call-up.

The way I see all of this: He's trying to make a good impression by pushing at a meaningless summer camp while the bonafide nhl stars are barely pushing it.

I'd wait until pre-season game before passing any form of judgement on his NHL skill set.

Alright Marty. Your opinion is noted. Actually, it was noted without you even providing it.

I mean, skepticism is expected. That's in the blog. Not even an impressive camp and exhibition will quiet that.

I could be wrong. He could start in Hamilton. But I'm certain he won't finish there. I think he's good enough to be a top-six player in the NHL--as soon as at some point this year.
