He's absolutely correct. That being said, he's not going to be anywhere near great.
- buffalofan19

I think he's wrong. The Kings got great out of nowhere. They were that team with Kopitar that for some reason wasn't better. Then in 2012 everything came together at the right time and haven't looked back. Mcnabb wasn't there when they didn't matter. The Kings are in a win now mode for obvious reasons and the Sabres aren't for obvious reasons.

That's being said, thanks for Deslauriers, LA. I'm really excited about what he can do. A solid, smart hockey player that can score and intimidate the other teams in different ways. I'm picturing a team with Him, Lemieux, Girgensons, Foligno, Kaleta, Stewart and others. These guys wont be pushovers. It will be fun.

IMO, Deslauriers for McNabb is a wash as I suspect they will both perform roughly the same at their respective positions. I like what I saw of him this year but I don't expect to be any more that a prototypical 4th liner with speed.

This trade really comes down to Murray dealing 2 2nds for Fasching. Discounting the Miller trade (as the writing was on the wall for him to be dealt to the Blues) this was really the first murray era trade. Still a ways a way but I like what I've seen from him so far, hoping he can be a top 6 player but more likely a scoring 3rd liner with size.

I think Deslauriers will mature into a full blown NHL'er and Mcnabb never will.

It's a real shame too, because if what I've been reading about Tebow is true (the improvements to this mechanics and accuracy throughout the off-season) then he would have been a much better option, his circus act from his stint with Denver probably cost him a return to the NFL.

Serious question, has anyone heard anything on Kaleta lately?
- Buffalo-Sabres

He had dinner at the place I work Wednesday night
Looks in good shape
Nice dude
I wasn't all lame talking to him about hockey or asking him for autographs or anything though

That might be early...
But I wouldn't be surprised if he's the QB by midseason

I think McNabb will for in GREAT in LA
I can see him on the 2nd pairing with Voynov (after Regier is done) for quite a while
I don't like the trade at all...
But I guess we'll see
I'm not as high on Fasching as most here
Hope I'm wrong

LA fans were really down when this trade happened. From what I've seen of Deslauriers alone in both Buffalo and ROC is why. Fasching is just another level. Not that it matters but we won the trade.

Way too soon to say who won that trade
Deslauriers I'd a career 4th liner
Not a guy u need to trade for. They're always available.
I think Fasching will either be a top6 guy or not be an NHLer
Like Luke Adam
Different styles of place, but guys that don't really fit into the bottom 6, who I think prob just aren't good enough for the top6
But like I said before...
I hope I'm wrong

Your feelingS are fair and reasonable about both guys. I didn't like losing Mcnabb the day it happened. Deslauriers will be a 4th liner a good, well rounded team. There is nothing wrong with that. Look at LA, you need those guys to hoist the cup.

Marrone is going to start to feel the pressure if they're losing a ton. If they start 2-4 or 1-5, and the offense is sputtering, EJ gets the bench.

So the guy that probably should of been here from the start in order to push Ej is signed week of the opener........

And people wonder why I could give two poops about the Bills.............

Mickey Mouse organization, outside of maybe a decade overall in it's history.

EJ is on the bench in the second half of week one.

As well as he should be as he should have rode the bench for three years minimum.

That's not the Bills way though.

Sounds like they've been trying to sign him for a while. Not sure if the hang up was money, or simply the fact that Orton didn't want to be here. Unemployment at opening week tends to change one's approach though.
