Playing Lecavalier on the 4th line with 4th line players is an infinitely more awkward fit. What I find most amazing is that a completely unproven player in Akeson is looked at more favorably then a proven NHL player like Lecavalier is.

When Gagne was traded to the Flyers during the half season, I saw a slight different in the five on five play, especially when he was added to the top line. Gagne has always bern known as one of the better two way wingers in the league. I'm assuming at this stage of Umberger's career that he knows to come back and help the D the way I noticed guy would. We need point production from Lecavalier and let's say Voracek who makes plays. I wonder if Lecavalier centering Voracek and Umberger would interest anyone. Have Umberger be defensively aware while Voracek and Lecavalier go to work.

Gomez, Briere, Heatley, Erik Cole, Bertuzzi, Morrow, Malone, Erat are all proven, too. Didn't stop them from ending up at the bottom of the depth chart, beneath some unproven/unheralded kids.

Vinny's gotta prove that he can bounce back a la Brad Richards... otherwise it's 4th-line for him.

It's times like this, I'm glad the Flyers like to hire people who played for them. Even if Kimmo never plays again, I could see him being involved with the Flyers organization as long as he wants to be. That is one of my favorite things about this organization, they really take care of their own.

Im not even worried about retaining salary. Its the hindrance of youth that concern's me as it should the front office.
- JoeRussomanno

I'd rather hang on to him and roll the dice that he plays well enough to get some team to take a chance on him. Based on how he was placed on the fourth line, Berube isn't prioritizing Vinny's preferences over the team's needs.

Given the choice between two less than ideal options, would you prefer to see Vinny put on a scoring line's left wing, or centering the fourth line?

Also for people worried about having to play Rinaldo and Rosehill lets not forget the Flyers could use any combination of players of Bellemore, Alderson , Raffl, Laughton, Blair Jones, Ryan White. Still have some options without even getting to Rinaldo or Rosehill

Trying to get him into better scoring chances. He would be a waste on the fourht line and also then you would have no chance in moving him. You need to try and get the best out of him and then hope some market forms with injuries to other teams or some team needs some offensive help.

He got more scoring chances on the fourth line last year than on the wing. When he played his best, he was always in the center ice position, so if you want him to have more value that is where he should play whether it be 2nd line or 4th.

Well if coke doesn't make him skate faster then what is he going to get in Camden that will improve his game? Guns?

Ronaldo is worth his roster spot. People forget how many penalties he drew that led to goals. I think he is really coming into his own as a fourth line agitator. He takes stupid penalties but he also draws them too and at the right times. I'd rather have Ronaldo then white if I was choosing.

I think White can do the same things as Rinaldo and has a little more skill and kills penalties.

Oh I want him in the center. But I would rather have him playing in the top nine and not on the 4th line.

I kind of soured on Rinaldo this past season. Too much stupid crept in for my liking IMO.

I'm glad.

In all seriousness, think about it. He could get acid or shrooms, and see facets of the game that others simply can't, like Gretzky.

Heroin, we already talked about. Jesus. He'd be fast as hell.

All the opioids he could get- methadone and oxycontin and stuff- he'll never be injured.

He could score some meth (and goals) and never be tired/want to WORKWORKWORK all the time. His conditioning would skyrocket.

Addies would fine tune his focus through all this.

....on second thought, sign em. He'd be a Gretzky/Mario/Bure/Howe clone.

Yea, let's see what he does after a summer of getting healthy and a summer/full camp knowing that it's Berube's team and that the plan is different than Laviolette's.

White is a better player, no doubt. Rinaldo brings some good elements to the ice, but he stagnated last year and basically stopped developing. He needs to become a smarter player, and learn to play better situationally. And he also needs to develop another part of his game to give added value to a team.

Left Wing is out. He can't play the left side. RW is an option also, so it's not just an option between LW and center. I don't see the 4th line as a good option at all. It's a waste.

Schenn giroux voracek
Raffl vinny akeson
Read coots Simmonds
Bellemare white Umberger

I think that 2nd(3rd) line is intriguing with akeson setting up those two. Raffl brings the speed and the grit. Remember this line will see lesser quality opponents than our 3rd line. Im not a fan of vinny but I believe he is capable of playing much better than last year.

Thoughts?

He can either get it in North Philly or the burbs and from plenty of modern day yuppie groupie puck bunnies too.

You are too young to remember Don Murdoch from the Rangers whose career was killed or all the Oilers from the 87 team who were indulging

What were all the spots where they tried him last season?

1LW, 1RW, 2LW, 2C, 3RW, 4C? Did I miss any?
