If he makes the team(very doubtful), he'll bring the teams average age down. - kcksvnabty
I can't wait for them to sign Kaberle after his tryout ends. |

That should get you some civil discourse from devils fans. - mdw7413
there is this one Devil fan who I tend to spar with. Seems to be a intelligent guy but he is the guy who told me late last year Mark Giordano in Calgary is a better defensemen than McDonagh, so I unleashed the wrath. |

Giordano is no slouch, and I would love him on the Rangers, but better than Mac, no way. |

He has no leverage whats so ever, so it doesn't make too much sense. Might as well just sign, play good this year then get payed next contract. |

I have a feeling he is going to sign right when camp begins, but, if he holds out, he may not have a job to come back to |

I celebrate it everytime McDonagh makes a great play...which is often.
I like to party. |

Moore can absolutely be replaced. Allen looks like a capable third line pairing defender. |

Yeah, I like the kid. He has shown flashes of being a really good player, and he is still young enough for a Defenseman to grow, but if he thinks he is irreplaceable, like Midnight said, Allen would take his spot in a second. |

There should be something said that the Devils are doing a courtesy by inviting Gomez to Camp but with a glaring need at back up they chose to bring back Clemmensen and not Brodeur |

I'm not one to defend or side with the Devils but bringing back Brodeur would have been a mistake. They are looking for a guy to take 20-25 of the starts as a solid back up with Schneider taking the bulk of the load.
Brodeur would want more, some of the fans would want more, Schneider would have unneeded pressure. It would be like the Jets QB situation. A disaster waiting to happen.
With that said I think they should bring back Brodeur because that would be the wrong hockey move and would set them back another year... |

In addition to the circus it creates having Brodeur linger around, the guy is barely above .900 save pct. over the last 5 years or so. Brodeur just doesn't perform above free market replacement value.
I am a bit puzzled about Holland's latest remarks about Alfredsson though. Can't imagine why he wouldn't sign him if he is willing to play. |

The Wings are surprisingly deep on the wings. Tatar, Nyqvist and Jurco should be top players 9 on that team this year. Nyqvist and Tatar are basically locks for top 9 and maybe even top 6 minutes. Jurco played really well in Grand Rapids and did ok in the limited minutes he got for the Wings during his stint with them. They also have Anthony Mantha. He's coming off a junior career of ridiculous proportions. Doubt he makes the team as a 20 year old rookie, given their reputation with young guys. He might though. He's that talented. |
