Yeah Duclair has insane skill, just don't know if he will physically be able to handle the NHL. From what I have gathered from people who have watched him in the Q, he seems a little soft. But that can be worked on and changed very easily. As far as Buchnevich I honestly know nothing about him. - mdw7413
Buchnevich is a first round talent that slipped into the third round due to his currently playing in the KHL.
A lot of teams scare away from Russian born players already playing in the K. |

2003 is the draft that haunts my dreams.
We all know the first round debacle but how about that second round? One pick before Ivan Baranka was chosen by the Rangers, Predators select Shea Weber. If the Rangers would have kept their other second round pick they could have chosen Weber or some other guy named Patrice Bergeron.
Just an absolutely disgraceful job by Sather and his staff. - MidnightMarauder
That is the draft. Why it is so much fun and so tough to predict. Sometimes years like that happen. Just think in 2000, every team passed on Hank, not once but 6 times. That should help a little bit. |

How bout Girardi, he got passed on in every round. That still amazes me that he turned into the player he has. |

Buchnevich is seen as a better prospect than Duclair. That should say it all right there.
During the prospect scrimmages last month, the reporters there said that besides Skjei, the only other prospect that looked like they could win a spot at training camp was Buchnevich. Not even Duclair. Too bad he's committed for 1 more year to the KHL. |

Just did some searching on the interwebs, and from what all the reports say, he would be our top forward prospect. People saying he is a Semin type player. I could live with that. |

Yea he looks real promising. Has some nice size and great hands.
Speaking of prospects, Jack Eichel is going to be a freshman at Boston University this year and he's only 17 years old...that's insane. Most NCAA hockey freshmen are like 20. |

Yeah, they usually play a couple years in Juniors or something. Don't know the thought process behind it, but I guess its for development issues. |

Sounds like Malone is coming to camp on a tryout, I still don't know why Sather jumped the gun on Glass, his contract is so useless |

Some people think that Eichel has the ability to give Conor McDavid a run for the number 1 pick overall. I haven't seen Eichel play at all, but have seen McDavid play live a few times. If Eichel can give McDavid a run for his money, he must be unbelievable, becaue McDavid is a generational talent. |

I don't think Eichel will outplay McDavid but it's like McDavid is 1 and Eichel is 1A. I like to think of it like the 2004 draft when Ovechkin went 1 and Malkin went 2. The fact that this kid is playing at the NCAA level as a 17 year old just shows how insanely talented he is. |

I've seen a few times over the years a tryout not meaning anything in the long run. I remember several years back they gave Nedved a tryout.
Who knows, just can't wait for camp to start. |

I played against Eichel in Juniors at Nationals. He played for the Boston Jr Bruins, I was on the Metro Moose. They won 11-2, and Eichel had 5 goals and 4 assists. The kid is a gem. Hes going to be a force in this league for a LONG time. |
