third line isn't too bad. The fourth line seems pretty poop to me though.

Considering the division they play in I think they have an outside shot at McEichel

I think both teams are going to be good teams in the future. They both still NEED some key pieces to become very good teams though.

A little pre-mature to take that position. Gardiner's is unlikely to ever get to that level and we can only hope that Rielly gets future consideration.

Leafs. Not a homer answer, just based on the divisions and conferences. Leafs would have the easier road.

I think Rielly will be a Norris candidate defensemen in the future. Obviously not a lock but I am very confident in him. As for Gardiner I think he will be a very good defensemen. I wouldn't say Norris caliber but a good number 3 guy and a top powerplay d man.

Both teams are headed in the right direction, but depending on who Carlyle's replacement is ultimately depends on Leafs results. Same with the development and additions to the Oilers blueline. But leaning towards the Leafs on this one.

Mac T has been pretty good so far at shedding salary and dead weight, but Tambo was so bad that it would be nearly impossible for Mac T to even the odds in favour of Tambo/Mac T over Nonis. Unless Mac T were somehow able to impossibly trade a winger mot named Hall to the Preds for Weber and only half his salary.....I say Tambo/Mac T combined are still less competent. Not that it matters much.

But since becoming president when Katz took over he was tasked to turn the club into an entertainment company. He fired the old scouts nd training staff. Hired a whole new group. Built a European scouting staff. Built an entire development system that we didnt have before. We now have the AHL Oil Barons, ECHL Condors, and the WHL Oil Kings all under the Oilers banner and can now develop our own prospects. Lowe has not been perfect by any stretch. But has done many good things that most fans dont even know about. The on ice product is entirely in MacT's hands.

Does Iggysbf say anything that outlandish? Guys like him get labeled trolls for making comments like "Phaneuf is a decent D-Man but his contract is a bit stiff and will difficult to move", or, "Bernier has yet to prove he can put up great numbers for 60+ games in a season" or "Khadri is talented, but needs to work on his 2-way game". None of those this are outlandish or false, they are however, not what Leafs fans want to hear".

Now, saying things like "Kessel sucks because he is fat", or "Rielly and Gardiner will never be dominant D-Men" or "James Reimer should be in the AHL" are all stupid and ignorant comments similar to what we here as Oilers fans. For example "RNH is too small and won't be able to stay healthy", "Justin Schultz will never be able to improve defensively" or "The Oilers will never turn the corner until Kevin Lowe is out of the organization". All idiotic comments we hear all the time.

Iggy doesn't post that kind of poop, you guys just don't like it when he says that "Holland can be a dominant forward....in the AHL". Not that I blame you, why would you like it?

That was one of the more annoying exchanges of the summer.

If you ran a poll, you'd probably find some Leaf fans agree that most stuff published by Pronmann is of little/no value and that the prospect ranks were very subjective (and suspect).

It's easy to get a rise out of many of the HB Leafs fans. Too easy to be considered sporting.
