You want video example of how he wasn't physically strong or slow to read and react? Really??

I mean, you don't have to, but then I'd just write off your assertion as lazy, uninformed BS.

If he wants to play again he will. A lot of the articles I have seen are typical sensationalized media BS. Clots are a serious thing, and he will need time to recover but I could see Kimmo back on the ice again.

Whether or not its worth it at his stage in the career path is another thing.

- flyer_nutter

Considering that this is the third documented instance of clots(he had past issues in 2003 with Nashville & 2008 in Philly), combined with the fact that he toyed with retirement this summer, I'd say it's definitely up in the air whether he'll play-at least in the NHL.

I wouldn't if I was him.

He has etched his way into being a "Flyer" for life and I am sure the organization would be willing to offer him some sort of position with the team after being a player.

At the same time, I wouldn't be shocked to see him try for a come-back.

Talent and skill wise he is def top 12 player on the flyers it just comes down to what coaching wants to do with the 4th line. If they want to be able to roll out 4 skilled efficient lines that can chip in then Akeson def fits this team and maybe in top 9 with a guy like raffl being the all around anchor on the 4th line. However it sounds like chief has plans to use rinaldo as a energy guy which hurts Akeson odds of cracking line up and being with the organization. Personally I think Akeson has a role on this team as a third wheel offensive guy who can be placed with two defensive guys in offensive opportunities and/or fill in on pp if needed.

He also doesn't have a ego that he needs to play big minutes like guys in the past that we have used in limited offensive roles which is a bonus.

- AGL_91

He didn't bother me defensively, he was on a pretty defensive line. I saw an ability to cover his point man and to go block shots from the oppsing defense.

According to the Vancouver Province's Tony Gallagher, NHL expansion to Las Vegas is a "done deal" and says there's fire behind the smoke of the NHL adding Seattle, too

Flyers silver lining: there will be an expansion draft (or two)!

He owns a team in Finland with Kapanen. I do think he will try to make it back this season if at all possible, but I also feel that this year was simply one last kick at the can.

I think regardless of if he plays or not, this will be his last NHL season.

I enjoy bringing my lunacy stories.

A buddy of mine went for a cyst removal on his lower junk or so he was telling us. Apparently they didn't close up the incision properly and with internal bleeding...

It had swelled to "the size of my fore-arm". This being after discharge and home for 4 hours. Along with turning a blue/purple colour.

Watch your junk gentlemen.

Atlantic Canada would have done well with a team.

But lets try to deep throat it more down the US market.

Id like to see another ontario team on the east side of the gta but it would slowly kill Ottawa

I was personally hoping they would have traded him at the deadline to a cup contender. His contract would be easy to swallow.

Well, being in the midst of a playoff position they weren't going to. Nor should they have. Had they done it during the lockout season, when they were clearly out of the playoffs, fine.

But being pretty much locked in to a playoff spot, it's hard to argue for taking bullets out of the gun.

Theoretically. ..
In case of an expansion draft you can protect Mason + 7 fwrds and 3 D or 6 fwrds and 4 D.

Who are you protecting?

Assuming all prospects are protected, not sure how those rules work.

Seattle is a good choice. Along with QC.

Vegas is laughable. Although they might attract more FA than Winnipeg.

He wasn't signed until the summer, and who knows, the Flyers could well be in the midst of a playoff spot this season at the deadline.

If they were really struggling, and clearly out of the playoffs, sure they could have leveraged him. If he's not that bad off and can return, maybe they still could

It's gone, dude.

I called Penn Transit and The Fresh Grocer. Both found nothing. If the city of brotherly love mantra holds up, some low life degenerate took it. Plan is to talk to a manager to see if I can watch security footage. I can name pretty much the exact time I lost it, I think.

So, that really (frank)ing sucks. A lot. Like a whole (frank)ing lot. I'm actually really upset. Hardly talked to anyone all day. I'm scared honestly. Focused exactly none all day since this was on my conscience, and then the only bright spot I had all day was 3:00 when I had plans to see my better half, and something came up. She had to split from campus. So the rug came out of my feet there. Normally I wouldn't give a poop, but today, it really sucked. Been drinking since 5.

Never been to Vegas. Not a gambling guy and more of a nature than city boy.

I think I'd just get drunk and grope a few people at worst/best.

I'd have to believe you can protect more then that. That's pretty much exposing over half of the team to the draft.

It would really suck if a NMC forced a team to protect a player and lose a protection slot.
