I'll use the Lecavalier situation as an example.

If he's playing center, do you put him with Simmonds? They were not very effective together, combined with Schenn. Who is the LW? If I'm giving Lecavalier a spot at 2C, I'm going to hedge my bet and put him with Voracek and perhaps Read, two guys that can drive possession, have good speed and who have good offensive instincts and can make plays.

Simmonds is a good player, but he's not going to find Vinny for one timers all that often. You go with 24-40-93 as a line, you can go 10-28-17, 18-14-12 and then Bellemare-White/Laughton-36/42 as a 4th line.

I agree completely. The line of Read, Couturier and Lecavalier was a huge joke to me and an example of his refusal to move away from the pairs.

If 10-40-17 and/or 8-22 see the ice again at any point in this upcoming season...

Rinaldo. Trying to give him more responsibilities. I should not be that subtle on the internet

Watch the 14 lovers aren't guna like his line mates lol all jokes.

Those lines work fine if schenn elevates his overall game. If him and g can create chemistry I think u will see his confidence grow and he will become a consistent player just like voracek did.

I just think that you have to find the best way to avoid weak lines. Last year they had two lines that the coaching staff, for lack of a better word, felt they had to shelter.

I've been saying it for awhile. It's hard to argue the overall results, but I'm of the opinion that Giroux catching fire had a lot more to do with it than Berube's coaching
- Jsaquella

That's normally the case, in that players win games. But there's no question that Berube came in a stabilized the team, got them moving in a better direction on how to play. He's a good young coach who I think has sound principles on the right way to play the game. I don't see any legitimate reason to doubt him as a Coach at this point.

I'd like to see them shuffle things, but Berube likes his pairs. He's going to keep Giroux and Voracek together. He's going to keep read and Couturier together and continue to use them in a heavy defensive role. He's going to keep Lecavalier with guys who don't necessarily drive play or who can handle things that minimize his weaknesses.

I just don't see him being very creative. Rinaldo gets suspended, he plugs in Rosehill. Grossmann gets hurt, he pops Hal Gill in, despite the fact that Gill played 4 or 5 games all season.

- Jsaquella

This doesn't make a lot of sense. First of all, a Coach doesn't decide which players are signed to contracts. Rosehill is the 13th forward. So when a forward is needed, who is the Coach suppose to put in?
Hal Gill was signed as a depth defenseman. So when a defenseman is needed, who is the Coach is supposed to put in?
Secondly, part of a Coaches job is to build a team. When players such as Gill or Rosehill, are good soldiers and teammates, are practicing hard, and being supportive. They deserve a chance to play some games when there is a chance, as a reward for their hard work, leadership, and for being quality teammates.
Whether a fan likes a player or not, does not come in to that as a factor of who the Coach plays.
Thirdly, there are Salary cap issues. Why call up another player for a handful of games, add to the salary cap and to the bonus overages that they already have for this season?
Basically if you're unhappy with the choices the coach has to to choose from, then blame the GM. Instead of making a weak criticism of the Coach not being creative.
