You didn't include the poll choice I would have liked to see:
-Bad signing, he parties too much and doesn't train hard enough. If people search they can find out what I mean.

He'll only see time if McGrattan gets injured... and maybe not even then. |

I dont see him hitting 20 and I dont see him as a player a contender will pick up for depth at the TDD... reaching.
JMO. Its a meh signing. - Iggysbff
I can see him be around 15-20 goals if he's playing 2nd line minutes with someone like Monahan. 3rd line minutes he'll sit around that 10 goal mark again. But I think he's got something to prove and he'll be coming in strong. His goal isnt likely to spend much time as a Flame, but to earn himself a new contract with a competing team. |

too many players ahead of poirier earning a shot this year I think. Let him show what he can do in the AHL first and earn the time. and on the 4th line would be a waste. - numbear
He had off-season surgery so he will be getting a late start. |

If he is playing with Monahan and Johnny as a line they will get lit up. That line would have the worst +- in the league. I really like Monahan but he cant carry a line yet.
And I keep hearing people say he's coming in with something to prove and will be motivated....so getting dumped by 3 other teams didnt wake him up yet? |

Totally agree... and as we see time and time again, when players are in contract years... their game seems to improve. Its also know as Turek-itis |

Meh, if he's not playing well he won't play, and his small salary is inconsequential. Hartley isn't afraid to scratch anyone. |

I actualyl thought he would be ok with Glencross and Backlund, that could be a decently balanced line. If they dont put up the goals, they will at least try hard every shift. - DDM-Coga
gooch and glenX on the same line could be a disaster. both way too streaky.
it would be a hard working line, but very low in terms of points. no true set up man. |

Can you put a player with a no-trade or limited no-movement on waivers? |

i think you can. but usually a player with that kind of contract is worth some kind of pick in return. So you'd be giving him away for free and eating half his salary.
(I think thats right) |

I know they touched on it during the FlamesNation vlog, but hopefully the dead weight are gone by the time the Flames should be contending for a spot. That aside, I like the players they have drafted (Monahan, Bennett, Gaudreaubey Baker). |

The upside is that he's a 27 year old who has proven that he can score in the NHL. If he puts up 20G and gets moved for a 2nd at the deadline that's all upside. |

If he scores 5, he goes to the A... pretty simple equation. |

If he doesn't make the team in the preseason he will go to the AHL and be a leader to help players there.
It is completely a win for the Flames. |

So you are criticizing the lack of moves? I really want to see the flames make the playoffs this year. Just because no one would see it coming. - tmurph
very unlikely.
Id rather they just stay competitive, then give the young a false hope by squeaking in this year. |

I agree with JimmyC. Character issues will be something to watch for, but other than that you really are getting a guy who can be a top 6. |
