One Half Japanese and One Half Cree, both sharks. Guy just isnt down with cultural diversity getting them confused.

Edit: Just checked what Cheechoo has been up to. 19gs 19as in 54gms in the KHL...not the worst.

He did real well for us in OKC couple years ago. He just can't skate at the NHL level anymore. He probably has a few more solid years left in him to make money in the KHL and then maybe he comes back to the AHL to finish his career.

If he comes in with passion/energy...

1. Curtis Glencross – Mikael Backlund – Jiri Hudler

2. Johnny Gaudreau/Mason Raymond – Sean Monahan – Devin Setoguchi

3. Joe Colborne – Matt Stajan – Mason Raymond/David Jones

4. Brian McGrattan/David Wolf – Lance Bouma – Brandon Bollig

- Colin Dambrauskas

I don't think we need Gratts and Bollig on the ice at the same time. One bodyguard for JG is all we need out there . I'd like to see Knight compete for that 4th line centre spot, we can move Bouma to the wing. Any chance we might see Poirier at some point this season on the RW? Heard great things about this kid...

It's a good signing even if he ends up a TJ Galiardi and not a Mason Raymond. Another one of those "last chance to prove you belong" scenarios?

too many players ahead of poirier earning a shot this year I think. Let him show what he can do in the AHL first and earn the time. and on the 4th line would be a waste.

I honestly don't think that Gooch is going to take time away from the kids at all... I think that this signing actually puts pressure on the vets to perform. Seto comes in now as the top goal scorer on this team. He has more NHL goals than any other player on the team, and I honestly think that this puts more pressure on guys like Glencross and Jones than it does on the young kids.

We have veteran options to hang onto now... we're not forced to keep anyone around if they're not putting in full effort. If Glencross wants to float, he can be moved out and we have MayRay and Seto that can step up and fill that gap... meanwhile Johnny Hockey and Baertschi are pushing from below.

I love that we have competition for roster spots. I want every player on this team to have to earn his spot.

Monahan's more of a shooter, I think Gootch's chance to light it up will be if he gets paired with Gaudreau (assuming Gaudreau comes up as advertised). Gaudreau's the only thing close to an "assists machine" that we have.

Gaudreau Money Gootch could be a good line.

Glenx Back Hudler
Gaudreau Money Gootch (offensive minutes)
Raymond Stajan Jones/Colbourne (Colbourne and Gootch could switch quite often)
McGrats/Byron Bouma Bollig

**When the hell is Bouma gonna sign (or did I miss it?)

I'd like to see him skate first... I suspect enforcement in the German leagues isn't quite the same as grappling with one of the big boys over here...

saw his OKC numbers too, was starting to wonder why he hasnt tried an NHL comeback yet. I assume that will be coming if he has another good season in the KHL

I actualyl thought he would be ok with Glencross and Backlund, that could be a decently balanced line. If they dont put up the goals, they will at least try hard every shift.

Last I heard...

"The only thing with Lance is we haven't agreed to a number yet," GM Brad Treliving said. "We'll continue to work away at it. We've still got time before training camp opens and we're hopeful we'll get something done but as of yet, we haven't. That's where that's at." Bouma generated five goals and 14 points in 78 games last season. He also racked up 181 hits while logging 12:36 of ice time per contest. Aug 15 - 1:06 PM

He'll be recovering from shoulder surgery for the first part of the season, so he will most likely have to earn a call-up from the AHL (which I think he will, and I expect to see him with the team after TDL if all goes as planned)

If seto gets a chance to play on line 2 with monahan i could see him hitting 20.

of course he has to get moved up, i think he starts on line 3. just a hunch.

- Lucas Neilson

Nah, I think Seto will bump Jones down to line 3 and he'll take 2nd line to start.

Apparently his training has been geared towards increasing foot speed, not speed eating . So I'm guessing he's got some big ol' tree trunk legs on him now

I could see that... I could also see Hudler play LW with Backs and Seto.

Glencross could play with Stajan and MayRay

Johnny, Monny, and Joe could be a very sheltered offensive line.

Bouma, Bollig, McGrattan, and Jones could all battle for fourth line time.

Having a more vet Top 6 and a young 3rd line could play to your advantage in the match up game. Especially at home, have the kids play against the bottom pairing guys and watch them gain confidence while Seto, Jones, Raymond, and Hudler have to battle through teh tougher match ups

I'm interested to see how much, if any, weight Bennett put on over the summer. He's been training with Tavares and a bunch of guys all summer.

Im hoping he hits around 20 goals and the Flames can flip him for a pick/prospect at the TDD. Would go down as a solid transaction for the Flames. If he hits 20+ goals again...(not likely but who knows), he'll be worth too much to resign.
- Colin Dambrauskas

I dont see him hitting 20 and I dont see him as a player a contender will pick up for depth at the TDD... reaching.

JMO. Its a meh signing.
