What about when Oduya comes off LTIR? - carcus
Need to get under the CAP hit of Oduya's then before he is able to be brought off LTIR. If they don't clear space (or are unable to), Oduya cannot come off LTIR.

LOL!
Hopefully some else gets hurt... - wiz1901
Obviously my attempt at humor. More to the point was the original question. If someone with more than a 2.2 mil cap hit was hurt, and on IR, would the Hawks need to get rid of anyone. It sounds like the answer is NO.
Even when Oduya gets healthy and comes back, say in Jan, they wouldn't need to make a move before then.
Realistically though, I don't think its out of the question that someone else could get hurt before Oduya comes back.
Just think if this is a legal plan, it is the best one as you don't need to get rid of anyone just yet, you don't need to make a decision yet, be patient, have a couple things lined up for when you do.
Lots can happen the first couple months of the year.

Sun Times says: only 3 players since 1900 have hit 3 home runs in their first 3 games:
Joe Cunningham - 1954 Cardinals
Soler and Baez. |

Good Morning Boyz!!!
I am hoping for some activity today but i doubt it.
Who do you guys think will pose a challange for our Hawks this season? my pick for some unknown reason is Dallas dunno why but its just a feeling. - BGKarras
Calgary for sure. They traditionally cause hawks trouble and with Brookbank now... Boy oh boy Sheldon knows too much about hawks |

No.
If they were to add (expand, not relocate) 54 teams, they were talking about $1.4B - which works out to almost $50MM per team WITHOUT sharing with the players.
So - if its 2 teams at $350MM each, that's about $23,000,000 each. - StLBravesFan
You mean other than the 23 more jobs and additional ticket, tv and merchandising revenue, lol. The fee for buying into the NHL club isn't HRR but it would still increase the players share of the pie in other ways.

Boy, if Lovie cut Major Wright in Tampa, then that must mean he really is as bad as everyone thought he was.

The players' share would stay stay the same - 50% of HRR.
I don't know the national TV contracts, but if there is no accelerator for adding new teams, then the national TV money - an HRR component - per team would be reduced. And if the other HRR revenues for the new teams were less than the average for the other 30, then average HRR per team - the component of salary cap - would decrease. All of this offset by general revenue growth.
More revenues, yes - more players, yes. And perhaps there are national TV clauses that increase the rights fees with expansion.
But perhaps not as high a salary cap per team - and perhaps lower average salaries per player - as without expansion |

Oduya broke his foot. It doesn't take 8 months to recover from a broken foot, FFS. And I believe its been mentioned he will be ready for camp.
And gardiner and Leddy are the same player. Skating ability and not much else. Both guys have nary a clue about defensive zone play.
And play recognition for a defenseman begins in his own zone. And both are terrible at it. Maybe they both should be moved to forward and the farce of calling either a defenseman be ended.
And the concept of calling Leddy a PPQB needs to end. He isn't. No defenseman on the Hawks is. They Hawks run their PP from the half boards. Kane and Hossa are the PPQBs. Maybe Dineen will change that. The last 4 years the Hawks have run their PP through the winger on the right half board.

Keith is fast, but Keith is a very painful skater to watch. Very choppy. Leddy is a rocket. - SteveRain
Ever, as in all of hockey you believe Leddy is the best skater you have seen?????

LOVE the double F S !
FFS !
FFS I just picked up my Hawks jersey's from the dry cleaner , they have been there since the G7 loss to the LAK.... They are still in the plastic waiting for October 1.
Im happy to see all the red ass on this board especially in the summer. This season is going to be epic , again . I can't wait .
I wish we knew what the game roster was going to be FFS already .... but In Stan I trust .
