What....no Kevin Hayes?

McNeill is still the prospect I'd most like to see make the jump to the big show next season. But I am hoping Danault can become that defensive centre he has been hyped up to be.

Who is Ken Appleby? Nothing on Wiz's site about him.

We should have some reservations about every prospect within the organization, that goes back to Saad too. Teravainen and Saad are/were two if our better prospects, but that still doesn't mean either are ready for top 6 duty in the NHL. It worked out very well for Saad but we'll have to wait and see how things turn out for TT. Prospects are always a risk, regardless of when they are drafted.

Agreed well said.

Obviously Versteeg is moved for a pick. Whatever you can get. Insert ELC player in his place. Should be between 8-900K.Subtract ELC from Versteeg's cap hit leaves the Hawks with a savings of 1.3-1.4M.

Who would want him? That is a whole nutter matter.

I imagine he's roster-filler at this point.

There are a good chunk of Hawks prospects in college and overseas, so I would imagine that's why there are quite a few guys we've never heard of on this roster.

Seabrook keeps a pretty low profile the last 5 years or so with the media...
I said this for awhile and some disagreed...Sharp is more appreciated other places especially Canada than here...relatively speaking, and Seabrook is pretty much the same.

The talk of trading Seabrook imo only happens if he wants out and that is for a number of reasons....No one coming fits his skill set, and please don't mention Johns....Plus Keith wouldn't be happy at all.

- Al

Seabrook: Unless your a reporter from ESPN1000 who no longer covers the Hawks...

No...I agree on Seabrook. Vastly underrated and WHEN they trade Sharp, he has to be an "A". True leader.

As far as Sharp goes....I'm done with him. Keep him if it gives you the best chance to win this year, but I hope at some point somebody has the nut sack to call him out for the off ice smoke around him. Then watch the flock of 40 somethings female demographic run away, and the mix show drop him on the spot.

On Seabrook, I totally agree too. His moment came in Detroit early May, 2013.
On Sharp, maybe Kaner already did that.

Kane: Well Played.

I wonder if Sharp's head can fit in the door since everyone just oogles over his luscious hair and great looks. Hell, he was Chicago magazine's cover boy.

All pretty big D men.

Some who watch Rockford more regularly, and idea what the lines would be?

Yep, best player in the game at that time
- John Jaeckel

I agree 100 %. He had it all. Skill, speed, grit, fire. Plus nobody was mugged on the ice more and for a guy not that big he was strong as hell

One of my all time favourites! Man Avs´s had great top 2 centers in Sakic and Forsberg but still only two cups

He was one of 3 FA invitee goaltenders at Prospect Camp in July - played for Oshawa of the OHL. If nothing else, they must have liked him more than the other 2 invitees.

Brett Welychka is one to look out for. Had 56 pts in 68 games last season for London as an overager, apparently there was a lot of interest around the league to bring him in for camp. He is being brought in for main camp as well.

I'll watch out for that. As it sits right now, there are 14 forwards slated to end up in Rockford. Depending on how much cap room is made and how many the Hawks carry on the roster for this season (22? 23?), there may be a need to bring in another forward or two on an AHL deal to fill out the roster in Rockford or Indy.

Thanks. That was good. I saw one with R. Kelly's World's Greatest song. Really good one with forsberg. They took it down awhile ago, though. Hard to believe with all the talent on the Avs and great bottom 6 guys they only won 2. I still wonder how Toews and Co. Stack up to those Avs teams and other Cup teams

I'm hoping to God these stories about him do not pan out. Seems like it could be a huge dressing room distraction throughout the year.

I have no idea what the lines will look like for the Rookie Tourney. As for Rockford, I'll have something in the first week of October.

Your ignorance/avoidance of context (like Saad being basically allowed to learn on the job in 2012-13 and being pretty horrible for the first 25 games or so) is duly noted.

But, hey, keep popping up to grind that wee axe. You're always welcome!.

- John Jaeckel

Saad had just 2 pts in his first 15 games but then reeled off 16 pts in his next 16 games. So all in all id say he actually bursted onto the scene rather impressively and without much delay. If TT could do that over his first 30 games id be ecstatic. Doubt he will though, probly wont even get the chance till next year.

Danault has all the attributes to be a long time NHL player, imo. He has gotten much bigger since he was drafted. Kid has been a leader on every team he has played on. I just have a hunch he is one of those players that makes a huge leap forward between his first and second year of pro hockey.

JJ was one of the biggest Saad bashers throughout. Talked about how throughout Saad's career he disappeared in big games and against better competition. So just let him have his "fact" that Saad stunk for the first 25 games and was allowed to learn on the job as that fits JJ's narrative better than the fact Saad was and is every bit a grade A prospect and has unmistakable top-6 talent. There was nothing better than the days when this board would collectively giggle like school girls while referring to Saad as Jesus who was solely a product of the Blackhawk marketing machine which was JJ's narrative. And, yes, the TT Watch has, in fact, taken on the exact same flavor.

Ya, 6'1" and almost 200lbs, that's a decent size. He was 170 lbs when he was drafted. I hope you're right about Danault making the leap, we could use another centre like him.
