So you are ok with using cocain and operating a vehicle? Don't down play the severity of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He's lucky he didn't kill someone. I will not excuse him for that decision but I'd be willing to give him a second chance to get his life together. Hopefully he has learned from it and it doesn't happen again.

I'm pretty sure if James Neal could skate well enough to play with Malkin Malone's skating wouldn't be a problem on that line. Bennett and his limp wrist will be hurt before too long and Malone is better at hockey than prob all our AHL forwards. You just let the young kids play when your team is doing a rebuild, we still have a cup or two to win.

What's the over/under on Bennett injuring the wrist? Game 20? Game 15?

Also, if he gets hurt again this season, do they cut bait after this year and move on or do you do another year of this?

I doubt that Bobby Ryan resigns with Ottawa, their owner self imposed salary cap really doesnt sound like Ottawa is interested in winning, and Ryan can get his money elsewhere.

Ryan, personally I dont like him as a player, I cant put my finger on it. He reminds me alot of Spezza, great talent but just missing something....

I'd pass.

Maybe Sid or Geno as his center

Here's the thing about addiction.... It completely controls your life and distorts every decision you make. I have a friend who was extremely successful and literally threw it all away because of prescription drugs and alcohol. It's hard to watch someone go down that road. You can have a rational conversation about getting clean and 2 hours later he's wrapping his BMW around a telephone pole.

It sounds like Malone is on the predictable downward spiral. At his age, no doubt Malone has gone from "party animal" to addict. He has only two paths to follow. Complete sobriety or drugs and booze. It will always be a significant risk.

If they bring him here his contract will need to stipulate some very strict and regular testing. He'll be getting real familiar with the trainer and a dixie cup.
