He has won 30 games over the 500 mark in his time with ottawa ,you yourself last season called our team an ahl calibre squad. And we would have to have jesus himself come down and save our team from being dead last.Yet we finsihed ahead of the leafs .Was Andy great last season ..no .But having one of if not the youngest bluelines in the entire league may have had something to do with that would you agree |

That's not 30 games over .500. Unless you ignore shootout losses, yet count shootout wins? |
|
|
|
Islanders - mighty13duck Maybe ,4 of ottawa,s top 6 had less than 100 games played at the nhl level.Cowen was the highest with 89 nhl games played.Inexperience cost us a bit last season ,but they should be better for it

Another great Signing/extension by the Sens! First MacArthur, now Anderson. Next up is Mark Methot & Bobby Ryan
Anderson who turned 33 early this summer still has lots left in the tank. He is the ideal candidate to mentor Robin Lehner who will eventually take over the #1 starting job from Andy.
I think Sens Managment made it loud & clear that they want strength in the goaltending depatment moving forward with a #1A - #1B goalie tandem.
In his 4 seasons here he's went .939, .914, .941, .911. quite impressive bargain for a $3.1 mill cap hit.
I see him coming in around .920 this season playing around 50 games IMO..
With Ottawa/Melnyk showing they are willing to retain quality assets this summer, It's looking more promising that we will re-up Ryan to a long term deal. hopefully before training camp. |

Not a bad deal for the first 2 years, He'll be a somewhat expensive back up in two years when he's 35, though. |

Troll? It’s the truth. It’s not hard to pick out 8 goalies in the East that most would rather, which makes half. I’m not saying he’s bad. He’s just never had a season with more than half the games played that he’s been above average. He’s had his streaks. All said and done, I just don’t see how anyone could claim he’s anything more than average. “Very good” would seem to imply AT LEAST top third. And if you’re going to pick 5 goalies from the East, Lundqvist, Rask, Cory Schneider, Price, and Luongo, all without the least bit of hesitation come ahead, and likely so do Bobrovsky, Howard, Varlamov, Bernier. Most would take all of them ahead of him, they just have less of a track record.
He’s not bad. But “very good”? That’s a stretch. He’s just not a top goalie. In the league. In the East. In the NHL.
I can’t believe anyone would even try to suggest he’s among the better goalies in the league.

He's like a perfect backup goaltender. Amazing numbers when he plays under 30 games a season and not bad in long stretches when your starter is down. Would love to have Anderson instead of Gustavsson - YzermanIsTheMan
Has been awfully good for stretches in the playoffs for some less than great teams in OTT and COL, also neither team had great defenses either.
On the save% thing. Well, I think I recall Chris Osgood had a pretty good save% in Detroit, which had a lot to do with the quality of shots he saw, which goes back to having a great defense including Nik Lidstrom in front of him.
All I'm saying is, Craig's been somewhat underrated and underappreciated his whole career, but he battles and wins more than he should. Qualities I want in my goalie. |

Well, he's been great during playoffs, which is where it counts!
Last 3 playoffs (save the demolition by the Pens) he had a .933, .933 & .950 PCT!!
along with 2.62, 2.00 & 1.80 GAA!! - Raven33
Anderson is & has been underated his entire career IMO. |

Not the best in the league but he's been very good if not great during the playoffs the last 3 times he was there! I'm happy with "average" stats during the regular season as long as we can make the playoffs! Andy has turned it up a notch in the playoffs and that's what matters! Half the goalies you listed are either unproven or not better then Andy in the playoffs so no, I wouldn't make the switch with them!
Luongo is older then Andy and has been terrible in the playoffs for several years!!
Bernier has no playoffs experience!
Schneider barely has any playoffs experience and nothing great there...although I do believe he has the talent to get better now that he has the reigns...
Bobrovsky has been pretty good the past 2 regular seasons but completely terrible during playoffs!!
Nothing great about Varlamov in the playoffs either... |

Flyers are close to signing Ryan Malone to a 1 year 100 kilos of Coke contract (E4). It is reported that paying a player in cocaine does not count against the cap |
