Hm.

Peters career NHL experience; 68 games, .908 save pct. Last year, 21 games, .919. He's 27.
Holtby's career; 105 career games, .915 save pct. 21 playoff games, .931 savepct. Last year, 48 games, .915. He's 24.

Statistically not a lot of difference and the guy who plays the best and gets the wins will be the starter. Peters has shown a lot of development and at 27 he is going to get the opportunity. If both Holtby and Peters struggle watch out for a proven goalie to be brought in, however I am convinced both of these guys are ready and it could work out to a 50/50 type of arrangement. I like both these goalies a lot and hope they both do well.

Until MoJo can win more faceoffs, you CANNOT put him as 2nd Line C. 34% last year...he's actually gotten WORSE over prior years....if he's the 2nd line C, expect another 13-14 season....but me-thinks Trotz probably knows this....look for Brooks at C if he's recovered...

Except Laich is even worse at center, and Trotz makes no mention of him. The organization views him as a left wing, as he should be. He hasn't played center since turning pro with the Senators organization.

Trotz specifically mentioned three players who will be auditioning for 2C; Mojo, Kuznetsov, and Burakovsky.

I highly doubt Burakovsky makes the team, but the Capitals have no problem rushing their 1st round picks, so...

Believe me, Caps fans don't want either of the three there. Most of us felt a 2C would have been brought in. Makes it worse when you consider Orpik took up Grabo's money...

Maybe trade time then. I just cannot see the Caps being successful without a better 2C....and don't anyone keep talking about Green to Detroit. The Wings won't trade anyone on the NHL roster for anyone. If you think Green to Detroit will happen, start scanning the rosters of the minor league teams affiliated with Detroit. Back to the 2C, I just don't see how they can go with any of those guys at C. You can't have a guy losing 66% of faceoffs setting up in either zone. You put him on for offence and you lose out on scoring chances or you put him in d-zone and now you're giving the other team more chances....I guess we'll see more 4-3, 5-4 games out of the Caps...or as I call it, "business as usual" Of note, NAS is stacked at C...I'm sure I'll get blasted here for saying this, but I'd love to see Derek Roy at 2C for the Caps.

Roy sucks.

Green improves your team significantly.

No doubt, Green makes any team better....but it's not going to be for Tatar or Nyqvist like so many dopey Caps fans think. Take your choice of a 2nd round pick and either Landon Ferraro or Dominic Turgeon...Caps 'need' a 2C, Wings don't 'need' another D-man....oh, you can have Stephen Weiss with that 2nd rounder too.

If the Wings want Green and the Caps want Tatar or Nyqvist, the Wings will just wait for the next off-season and sign him UFA.

We don't want your redundant wingers, actually. No one also wants to trade Green around here, especially for a scrub-tier prospect and a 2nd round pick.
