That would be an interesting idea to send him to Dallas, I think it could be win win if they can get Johnny B extended, kind of guy that puts that team over the top and built for a playoff run.

Dillon is a guy most teams would love to poach away from the Stars, Wonder if they would be willing to part with him over Oleksiak. Haven't heard much about his how his contract negotiations are going

Contract negotiations for Dillon and Eakins have apparently been low-key but Nill has stated that both will be signed.

Oh i really couldn't care less, but to think that the Leafs are a top contender in the East is (frank)in ridiculous

I agree, but any team in the East's top 8 could finish in the top 3 IMO

Including the sad sack Habs

i dont see how toronto can give up a top pairing Dman, why would they be interested when they are a top contender in the east? dallas will have better luck with the bottom feeders such as florida, ottawa and buffalo. or if they can find a deal in the west with a lottery team such as edmonton, vancouver etc.

If Toronto is in any type of talks with Dallas to get any of Oleksiak, Ritchie, Nemeth, or Campbell then they should made those trades before Jim Nil wakes up. If any of those prospects can be had for Phaneuf, Lupul or Franson...pull the trigger now!

I'm enjoying the fact people take him seriously and then proceed to fly off the handle.

They don't exist anymore, so it made me laugh. Also, they share the same odds of winning the Stanley Cup as the Canucks do

fly off the handle

-An Americanism that goes back to our pioneer days when axes were most often handmade, frontiersman whittling their own handles and attaching ax-heads that had been shipped from the industrialized East coast. Because they were often crudely fitted together, ax-heads were known to fly off the handle while being used, often resulting in injuries to the user or those near-by. The suddenness of an ax-head being flung off - and the resulting trouble it caused - naturally suggests a sudden, wild outburst of anger, the loss of self-control, or losing one's cool, all with a possible threat of harm. The expression is first recorded in John Neal's 1825 novel Brother Jonathan; or the New Englanders as off the handle. It was not recorded in its modern form, fly off the handle, until 1844 when it was used in one of the Canadian Thomas Haliburton's Sam Slick tales. The character of Sam Slick is a Yankee who expressed his often satirical views of human nature and national relations in a newspaper column in the Novascotian.

What I'm suggesting is that the Leafs have pieces that could possibly help Dallas now. Oleksiak Ritchie etc (while great prospects) havent done anything in the NHL and may not for a couple of years or more . That might not be the time frame that Dallas is looking at. Dallas has pieces that would benefit the Leafs possibly in a 5 years or so? It becomes a question of whether or not Dallas thinks it could contend in the west now or wait until its prospects become NHL ready? For that matter, any of Dallas, Anaheim, SJ , STL, LA , Chicago, are all going to have a better chance at the cup in the next couple of years then the Leafs. We have pieces that should go to any of those teams for prospects that could help us in the next 5 years.
