The state is actually pretty diverse and hard to characterize by just "North" and "South".
North west NJ is very nice has mountains and rolling hills - not like any other part of the state. Nice area. Hunterdon, Morris, Essex Counties.
Along the southern half of the eastern shore is all pretty much nice, from Cape May to the Atlantic highlands. (with the exception of the Atlantic City ghetto area) Cape May, Atlantic, Ocean and Monmouth counties.
Perth Amboy north is pretty urban as you get into north east NJ - Some nice areas much of it is like an extension of NYC. The Rangers disease runs rampant in these area's as many of them consider themselves to by from NY and should probably move there. Union, Hudson, Essex counties
Southwest NJ is the Camden area and is mostly suburbs of the Philly industrial area, mainly the armpit of the state, inhibited by mostly Filthy fans, this is an area to avoid unless you are a drug dealer or buyer. Camden, Burlington, Gloucester counties.
The Turnpike runs from southwest to northeast NJ - through the industrial areas and not really through any nice parts. (which is actually great planning) Most people who have "been to" NJ and say its all crap, have traveled through on the turnpike and never have actually visited the nice parts of the state.
So to recap -

I really hope Bobby Ryan doesn't reup in Ottawa. And I hope he wants to go to a team where he can be a 1st line winger, have solid goaltending, and a good culture (cough cough, us)
I'm sure Philly will somehow find a way to fit him under the cap though. |

He's a flyer for sure. They'll buyout half the team to sign him because he won't take a discount. |

Just like Teddy was too good so we had to trade back and not pick John Carlson. - NickA
Maybe we can swindle them out of Carlson in a lopsided trade. Wash has been known to do that afterall. Never forget:
Varlamov for a 1st (Forsberg)
Forsberg for Erat
Erat for Rusty Klesla and a 4th

I live in South Jersey in Burlington County. I live in Pemberton on a farm, it's mostly all farms around my home, blueberry fields and cranberry bogs around my house but go a little distance and there are other farm lands like cows, hey, beans, wheat. |

McQuiad? I think Severson will be up next year. Larsson/Merrill had chemistry with Gelly so put either one with them, probably Larsson and put Severson/Merrill with
Green/Martin.

one of my roommates through college is cousins with Palmieri...days before the Draft Lou apparently told Kyle that they were going to take him at #20 if he was still there
I'm sure they do this with a lot of players but my roommate said Palmieri and his family were really pissed after bc he wanted to play here...remember when he scored the GWG in NJ last yr? |

I'm setting a goal this season to make it to at least one devils game in nj ! - blizzzard
i got tickets for the outdoor game last year and went early to so the devils play Washington on home ice.they got the w and it was thrilling to be around devils fans not sens or mtl fans for once in my life ! i had a great time the arena is sweet and the bars close by are full of cheap American beer so its hard not to have fun. i also got drunk on the 7 hour drive there but shhh |

The reason he has been brought up would be as a bottom pairing guy who would add toughness yes all of our kids look promising but all of them are soft players our back end with be a total push over until Jacobs or santini gets here which won't be at the earliest two years but likely 3-4 |

O, well I didn't read every comment, I just say that and was wondering why. I understand the physical need to a degree. I just think they would be able to handle themselves and we also have quite a few tough players in Clowe, Ruutu, Bernier and other guys who won't let other players push them around like Henrique, Zajac, Elias, they may not be Lucic type players, but they can handle things or calm things down to get to the next faceoff. I would like Boychuk instead McQuiad by the way. |

Rutgers and Princeton, but I don't know if it's THE Princeton. Stockton and Rowan are big I think. Seton Hall is down the street from the Rock. |

Clowe will be. Vegetable in a few years and I have never seen bernier or rutuu fight look what happened to carter when he faught filigno when that happens you don't gain any momentum and there is a difference between being able to throw a check and being able to step up and handle things and guys who do fight no that bernier might get in their face but if the gloves come off he won't do poop it makes it easier for player to crash the crease when they know maybe one guy will come in and fight them and the only one anyone would be even remotely scared of is clowe some people believe this is needed but I am not one of them Cory is the goalie of the future and I don't want to see him walked all over because we are soft or because we have to wait for a forward to fly down and clear the net after whistles |

Even if we did have him, that's still only one guy on a bottom pair that wouldnt get much time as the other two pairs would. When they get more experience I think they can handle it and theirs not that much fighting anymore because they don't drop the gloves, they skate away or the refs intervene. I don't mind it, but if it means that it takes away from bringing up a player who has earned his spot than I'm against it because McQuiad doesn't have a high ceiling. If he was a 7th guy or we got some tougher guys in our top 12/13, than that should help as well. Well see though this year how our defense does. We don't play that many physical teams anyway, maybe Philly, Boston, Rangers, LA when we play them. |
