So far this is my favourite hockeybuzz thread I've ever read.
Shanny will stay. Everyone's loving his moves, particularly buying an analytics department. No way a new MLSE CEO comes in and moves him out. Besides, Shanny needs to be there in the line of command to take the hit if the Leafs crash and burn. And I think it would take at least two more years of missing the playoffs before Shanny walked the plank.
The beauty of it is that Shanahan actually will do really well, the Leafs will trend upward and contend, so it won't even get to the point where firing him is being considered. There's going to be a statue of Shanahan in Maple Leaf Square someday. Shanahan's name is going to be on the Cup with the Leafs. |
