I can't stand the Kadri hate. The guy gets 44 points in 48 games then the next year he gets 50 points in 78 games. - JVR_42_PK81
No poop. Like I said, I consider last season to be his down year, and he still got 50 points, which ain't half bad.

That's not bad at all. Especially when Lupul was injured and Clarkson had the worse year of his career. He also had Kulemim as a partner and all of his 20 points. |

yeah the bottom 6 is vastly improved, i think this is over shadowed with many years of crap hockey in Toronto, hell, they even added some stability on the back end. As long as Robidas can stay healthy - that alone should make them better on top of rielly and gardiner being 1 year older. Polak, yeah, he should be a glorified third pairing D man for the leafs, nothing more, just a move the body in front and play a tough game back there kinda guy. - Lucas Neilson
not to mention, we have defensive prospects ready to jump in if there is an injury. past 2 years its been garbage with holzer, kostka and ranger. percy and granberg both had solid years with the marlies last year and either can come in for a short period of time. finn is coming to the marlies this year, same with nilsson. shouldn't have a shortage of defense this season. |

Let's just hope they use them couldn't stand seeing Brennan down there tearing it up with ranger still playing on our team. |

San Jose's asking price for Thornton, as has been stated on here before, is Nylander, Kadri, Reilly, Gardiner and Toronto's 2015 and 2016 first round picks. The Leafs may have to add another piece to make this work!!! A fair price as far as the Sharks are concerened. Dave Nonis is channelling the ghost of Gerry McNamara for guidance. Cliff Fletcher is happy to wait and sign Steve Staios to a 10 year, 100 million dollar contract confusing him with Steven Stamkos. - kayakerjack

As badly as you guys need a #1 C it would make little sense to get Joe. SJ would want far too much. I'd love the Oil to get him too but I wouldnt want to give up more than Perron and a 2nd. So thats not happening. |

agree fully.. while it would be nice to see such a great player in a leafs uni.. it would signify the start of a youth movement in SJ and it would empty whoever goes after him of their picks and prospects |

Yup.
If it was Couture or Pavelski then you sort out a deal. But that would never happen of course, hence Joe being dispensible in SJ's eyes.... |

Joe is still way better than those 2. I think if SJ got rid of Joe they will see just how good he was for them. Pavelski and Couture are good. But not close to Joe. And neither are leaders. |

I see a big season for Kadri. I consider last season to be his "sophomore slump", even though it's technically not his sophomore year. I think he bounces back and takes the #1 by season's end. Especially with the new philosophies behind the bench and within the organization. They put together an all-star analytics team for a reason. It won't take them long to see that Kadri > Bozak. - TheThrill
I think we all know Kadri will be the better player over Bozo. But to put him on the first line would be like putting all our eggs in one basket. I see him as a better fit on the second line still, he can be the go to point producer on the second line and we have phil as the point producer of the first line. Somewhat try to spread out the scoring a bit more.

I get what you're saying, and agree about balanced scoring. However, I'm sick to death of seeing Bozak with Kessel. I want to see the bromance broken up |

And Kadri was on the 2nd PP unit, which drives me crazy.
I get that he still has a ways to go with his defensive game, but is there anyone on earth who thinks that Bozak has more offensive creativity?
Put Kadri with Kessel on the powerplay. |

Yup. RC
TO be fair, if Kadri could win a faceoff, i have no doubt he'd be on that first line PP. |

Yes, there is no reason for this not to happen. Also, stop the Franson-Phaneuf pairing. Both are slow as molasses and more shooters than passers. Put Rielly or Gardiner with one of them and balance it out better.
Hopefully the new coaches recognize |

Never said I hated him. I was just saying I'm not certain as to whether he can be you #1 center or not. That doesn't mean I don't think he can be a good #2 center and log some important minutes. I don't hate him at all, just not sure he has what it takes to be a #1 center...again just my opinion on the matter. |

I think it's kind of true, as far as stacking up against other team's #1 goes. However, he's the best center we have right now. |

It's a fair opinion.
We don't know if Kadri can be a #1, but we know he has more potential than Bozak, so we all want this year to be the one where Kadri at least gets a fair shot at being the man.
Of course, we have grave doubts this will happen under the current coach. |

100% agree...the new analysts department is going to tear Bozak to shreds. I think they know that by now, I believe, as others have mentioned, that the reason Bozak plays with Kessel is to promote scoring balance throughout the lineup. Or at least the top 6. |

I think Kadri's skillset is meant for a line 2 centre vs a little weaker opponents and #1 PP.
He's a point guy not a two way forward. All the best #1 centres play 200 feet. |
